Struggling with pain and pocket duties pleassseeee

Hi everyone
To cut a long story short, I have OA in my hips back ,knee and now my neck and my hand have joined in
I have been having blood test and the esr I think thats right is raised, not sure what is going on,
On Tuesday I go into hospital for another camera in my hip, I had on last year, and its to determine if most of the pain is coming from the hips or my lower back, my scan show my hips do need replacing, but my consultant says I wont be happy if I have them done and the pain is still there.I have been on the list once, and I chickened out, them they put me under a different consultant
In the last year I cannot get on top of this pain,
I have also found out I have Arthur in my sacroiliac joint...
Sorry Im rambling here, I would really appreciate your pocket duties for Tuesday...hopefully it will give him some clues...the last one didnt... :?

You can count me in for pocket duty on Tuesday.Will jump in immediately have left my rheumy clinic.This pocket jumping is damn good exercise,stops things seizing up..........

Oh Barbara, I'm so sorry you are having all this extra pain right now. You are so supportive of everyone else I do hope the camera on Tuesday helps them, and you, to decide on a course of action that with help you. Count me in, of course, and a couple of my rare ones to keep you going. (())

I will be thinking of you on Tuesday, I will have everything crossed that this time there is a more positive result for you and the consultant can find a way forward for you. I know you have really struggled since the last one and I am sorry that your neck and hand are now being affected too.

What a lovely lot you are..can I just say a big thankyou to Val, Poppy. Tony, Ron, Suzy, Nesia, Joan, SW, Georgie and Ironic
Gosh it makes such a difference just having you all to talk to...I will go in on Tuesday and have the camera thingy put in my hip, and while they are in there he will do two injections..dont ask.. I had one last year..so am not looking forward, but if I get relief from it then he will do my first THR..so its no win really.. :?
Has for the hands and neck I have to go back to my GP next week and take it from there...I am just hoping the ESR reading is down ...is it ESR..my mind is mush at the min

I'll be there on Tues, part of the time.......I have an appointment at the eye hospital in the afternoon.......so I'll be hopping in and out I use the term hopping very loosley
Let me know how it goes. I have a day op coming up.....its an aspiration on the hip that has been replaced {not very successfully} and then I will have another day op which sounds like yours.
Its to figure out if the pain is coming from my back or my hips {a bit late now :? } Havent got a date yet for that one. It wont make much difference.....if its my back they wont o anything and if its my hip they say a THR asap {not sure about that } anyway I would be interested to find out the details and how it goes

Hileena..I should have had this injection and camera before Christmas...but there you go
I had one last year in my left hip, and the results...bone on bone...I already knew that....so yes I am going round in circles...but he really did scare me when he said if I have a THR I could still be in has much pain .
So we have to try these things.
I will keep you posted.

Hi Barbara
Its worth a try {THR} if you need it.....the majority are fine....docs have to tell you the all the side effects...be they bad or good.

I wasnt told much......but afterwards was told that the majority were very successful, some left the patient no worse / no better and a very small minority were worse.....I was that small minority.
Everyone I have talked to [face to face} that has had a THR has had brilliant results.

I'm new to pocket duties, but you seem such a lovely lady your posts are comforting and reassuring no matter what you respond to.

So I am dipping my toe in, I will be with you on Tuesday hope I can fit in at this late stage.

Hope your pain soon eases.

P.S. I am a member of the chicken club too! These things have to be when you are ready to face them.

I wish you all the very best on Tuesday, dear Barbara. I know that you have been suffering loads and I do hope that you get some answers and leave the appointment a little more "in the know" about things and feel fairly ok about it all.

One thing for certain is that you cannot and should not really carry on like you are having to and have done for a long time.
