sulfasalazine causing red gums

ive been on sulfasalazine for 5 days now and my bottom gum has turned a deep red colour should i be worried ?

hi hun. Not sure but it might be an idea to ask your pharmacist? If not, do you have a rheumy nurse to ring? It's probably nothing and there will probably be more responses soon. I've been ok on the sulfa, just losing weight :shock: Lol
As I say, if you're worried about it ask one of the above or your GP?

don't want to worry you but i had a bad reaction on sulfasalazine phone your rummy ..she might change your meds like she did for me..

Hopefuly Rebekah you have taken some advice on this by now.
l know it can turn your wee orange, but gums????
If you haven't taken advice you can ring NHS direct anytime.

no i never had red gums rebek..
but i would get it checked up
