UPDATE ON EYE APPOINTMENT

Hi Everyone
Well it was the same consultant and he was as horrible and as abrupt as I remember
I havent actually got a diagnosis ...well not a name.
He put a needle in my eye {didnt tell me what or why} and moved the needle about a bit.....quite uncomfortable....then I felt water {or something} coming into my throat. He did both eyes. I had to ask him afterwards what he had been doing....syringing your tear ducts and they are clear.
He then said go out and wait and I'll call you.
Called us back in and he had another contraption that he put up each nostril and wiggled it about....then said they are very inflamed.
He wrote a prescription for nose spray {steriod} I had to ask again what the connection was between my nostrils being inflammed and all the tears.
Apparently the lining of the nose and the ducts in the eye share the same tissue....normally the eyes produce tears to cover and protect your eyes and the rest goes down this duct and your nostrils but because mine are inflammed instead of the tears going the proper way they come back up and out as tears. Something like that. So use this spray and go back in 3 months to see him
Think thats about it.
Love
Hileena

You're right, mig. He was a winker. At least Hileena's getting somewhere though.

I use a nasal inhaler, Hileena or, to be exact, my husband does as I can't work it myself. I count one, two three and he squirts it on three with only the occasional accident after he gets back from the pub.

I promise you, Hileena, he's made my eyes water a time or two. That inhaler was never intended to disappear up my nostrils. Well, he said it was an accident.

    Hi
Well I've been out tonight....not long in so just catching up.
Julie....it does sound pretty awful doesnt it...but it was just uncomfortable
and the fact he didnt tell me that he was going to do it and then when he had done it went and sat down at his desk.....he didnt seem to have any intention of telling me what he had done and why and that made me angry. :x
Suzy........like i say it wasnt very comfortable and i had to ask him after he had finished.....what he had just done and why? He looked amazed  I dont think many people question him. :o Then my nose.....I had to ask him again....I suppose some people {especially older ones ....says she at nearly 66 :lol: } just think a doctor is a god and that he knows best......No Chance.....I want to know!!!

    Hi Hileena

Gosh! Anyway, you lived to tell the tale, thank goodness and I just hope that after what reads like torture, the nasal spray does the trick.

    Hi Hileena,
What an awful way to treat people, you are right some of these doctors have a very high opinion of themselves. My mum is going through a second course of injections for a different problem and her hospital is absolutely lovely with her. Talk her through the procedure and reassure her, as it should be. I am so sorry that you had the opposite experience.
Fingers crossed that the spray works for you and gives you some much needed relief soon.

    Hello Hileena

Sorry you had to see Dr misery again - and all the poking around in your eyes sounds really horrible. But hopefully he has sussed what the problem is and that the nasal spray really helps.

    Thinking of you.
