Hi all,

Since being on MTX ive noticed ive been getting spots on my scalp in my hair. Ive never had this before and i was wondering if it is because of my immune system being lowered and not fighting the spots!

Has anyone else had this problem??

No, definitely not had that with meth. Or, indeed, any other problems. I've not even heard of that as a side effect. Maybe a little cautious monitoring is required.

Just an afterthought. You haven't recently changed your shampoo have you?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

it sure does lower your imune system which makes you more supseptable to cold/flu and infection but like above ive never heard of spots on the scalp.

are they sore, itchy or flakey?
also when was the last time you had a blood test done.

if you are prescribed the mtx by your rhumy dept it might be worth giving the rhumy nurse a call just for piece of mind.

I have changed my shampoo recently, so i am going to stop using it to see if it's that.

I just wondered if i was getting them cos my immune system was low.

I will give it time and see what happens, if nothing improves i will go and see my docs! :)

Spots on your scalp are most likely to be down to change in hair care product, or a change in hormone levels. I get them and for me it's a change in hormone levels, having just come off the pill. I doubt it's anything to worry about though!
