I am fairly new to these forums and have spent my time mostly browsing and reading others experiences and the long term effects the up and coming changes will have on them  The biggest problem I think we will all face over the coming months and years will be poverty :!: Which in a so called modern society seems impossible but stop and consider all that this government are planning to do to the less able of this country.. They barely look after the old and disabled of this country at the moment let alone being young and disabled, we will soon have to wear a sign around our necks saying UNCLEAN and the medical will revert to the old sink and swim test of old :o Sink and (Sorry you must have been ill) Swim and you will fail but now we will starve you till the end :lol:
Sorry for the rant but never have felt that any one should walk a day in our shoes but these B#####'S should do a year :x

I can see what you mean, but I wonder how we would all be faring in the days before the Welfare State? I am grateful for my DLA, even if it is reduced it will still be something coming in to help with my extra expenses. The WS started out as a very good thing but over the years it has become bloated beyond belief. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

OH :o Don't get me wrong I am slating the welfare state or what it stands for just the new system that is yet to take its full extent.. I think due to the way the new rules are going to be implemented there are going to be a lot of deserving people cast iin to abject poverty  I am all for finding the fraudulent claims but come on surely common sense should prevail and medical evidence should be the key to all claims especially with DLA !! Too many times we have seen geniune people being made to suffer by this system and it can only get worse  After all they seem to fail to listen to the people that it affects.

Oh Rich I am 61, and yes I do worry what the future will bring, but the disabled are not the only ones feeling the pinch.
Saying that it does seem that we are an easy target, and I agree that they should take into account you medical history before calling us in for the dreaded medicals..
    Love

I know what you mean .. The whole world if you like is feeling the pinch but I was only reflecting on what some are being put through on here.. I myself have not really been affected YET but I know that day will come  Unless I can get back to work then it will cause me issues but all the same I read some of the treatment being dished out to members on this site (and others) for that matter and it gets me hot under the collar :lol:
