    thank you all. X
Dr Martin said that he thinks there is some possible psoriasis involved but the sulfa is helping that, same with the guts. Is worked over the loss of appetite, which I know is caused by the sulfa but he wants me to stop taking it for two weeks, se if the appetite comes back. If our stores we will know for sure that it's the sulfa and will consider what to try next. Methotrexate was mentioned but we shall see. Back in four months. Told him how much pain I'd been in and the many flare ups, said he's sorry but they happen..
So, gave me another kellodrone? Injection, hoping that might help a bit..

    Thanks everyone :D

Would highly recommend Meth, but ask for the injection rather than the tablets, its much more effective.

How long did the steriod injection last for you?

I think we got ours done at the same time?

    Thanks girls...
I've kinda overdone things since my appointment, went to skeggy with our friends, they did the driving as I was in too much pain, but doped myself up on diazapam so I could help with some of the things that needed doing at the caravan. So I'm really suffering today but hoping it eases.
Debra, I had a few weeks of feeling slight relief from the last injection hun, how about you? Hope yours helped..

Today is my first day of stopping the Sulfasalazine for two weeks rheumy wants me to stop taking it to see if it really is that that's stopping the appetite, I'm quite sure it is. I'm expecting a pretty rubbish time of things though as I'm also cutting the fentanyl patches down at the minute at the behest of the pain clinic... Don't think it'll be plain sailing that's for sure
So, I reckon if I go back to the rheumy and tell them my appetite improved completely for the two weeks without sulfa then it might be a case of going into the meth. I will enquire about the injections if so.
I'm a tad concerned at this all happening at the same time, my pain clinic bloke didn't mention replacing the fentanyl with anything so I'll be relying on paracetamol and diclofenac and nothing else, which have never been that strong for me. I can see his point in a way, he said that, at the dose of fentanyl I was on (75mcg/hr) they should definitely take the pain away and if they're not, then they're not working at all.. So, in down to 50mcg/hr and will chop it down to 25 later.. Just hope this treatment he wants to try comes along soon..
I may need extra hugs, kind thoughts and general help from you lot for a while, lol.
My GP wasn't impressed with the pain lot leaving me without either but I've tried sooooooo many different painkillers in the past I don't know where to go next.

    Oh well.
Sorry for the long winded post. Needed to get that off mi chest.

Oh, also, I've started with new pains.. The balls of my feet and a spot just under my left shoulder, what joy.
    Thanks for reading

Oh dear, poor you. No sulph and only feeble pain relief? I'm pleased I'm not you! If you do go onto meth I think it will be the tablet version first as that is the usual procedure as they can build the dose in slighter steps. Poor tjt, I fear you are indeed in for a rough time. :( [[]] DD

    You're a love.
Yeah, not really looking forward to what's to come. I recon the stomach will kick off and the skin will too.. The sulfa cleared them up straight away. He didn't give a true psoriasis diagnosis as such but said it was probably involved along with some slight colitis.
As long as I know my pals are here.. I'll get by lol.
    Thanks hun xxxx

I am still doing okay after my steriod injection. Get the odd niggle now and then but nothing major.

I'm hoping that he will give me another injection soon. I think you can only get them once every 4 months.

I think the Meth injections have made a big difference too.

Just need to get rid of the psoasis and tiredness.

The tiredness eh? Boy am I aware of that one, pain drain I call it.. Not found anything that helps that I'm afraid. I just sleep when I know I have to..
I had some (what they think) was psoriasis but the sulfa cleared that up within days. And had extreme stomach trouble that it also cleared up, which is why I'm dubious about chandon to Meth. I've no knowledge of it and don't know if it has the tripple whammy.qualities of sulfa, helping joints, stomach and skin. I adored the way the sulfa helped my stomach, I'd suffered for many years with the problems and it helped sooooooo much.. I've got them problems to look forward to again for the two weeks without the sulfa
Anyway hun, best wishes with things. Did you try the sulfa first?

Hi Tony, I just wanted to add good vibes for all you're going through. I hope the stomach probs don't kick in and that reducing the patches is'nt as bad as you think it might be.
I'm guessint that if you're taking voltarol regularly then you're also getting something to protect your stomach? If not then for sure I'd ask the GP to give you something. Also if the voltarol is'nt working there are lots of newer anti inflammatories which they could prescribe for you.
I hope you get things under control soon and that today is a better day for you.
Methotrexate injections can only come after you've gotten to the required dose gradually with tablets but definately caused less nausea and sickness for me. Unfortunately I'm off them now and having steroid injections every month until the leflunamide kicks in.
    Rita.
