Hi all,
yesterday morning i woke up with a really stiff neck and it is very tender to touch esspecially on the left side of my neck.I have also noticed that my glands are very swollen in my neck.My temperature has been between 37.3 and 38.1. my voice does sound a little bit hourse but not too bad.
i went to the gp this morning and he told me it was laryngitis.
I just unsure, i did read that this could be a side effect of taking sulfasalazine.
has anyone else experienced this or had laryngitis?
My neck is worse today and more tender to touch.
I should of ask the gp about it in more detail but i feel he is getting sick of seeing me and gets rid of me as soon as he can.
i was with him for no more than 2 mins this morning.
Thanks. D

If your glands are swollen then it sounds like a throat infection and that can indeed lead to laryngitis. Keep warm and hydrated, my hospital's advice is always to stop any immuno-suppressants I take so that my immune system can stir itself to fight off a bug so if you are on meth or anything like it may be worth seeking your rheumatology department's advice on that. I hope you feel better soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi
This probably isnt much help but years ago {pre arthur } I used to be diagnosed with laryngitis quite often......but the way it affected me was I lost my voice completely but felt perfectly all right?? Didnt feel ill, didnt have a temp....The only thing is I was a telephonist at the time and a telephonist with no voice {no matter how well she feels} isnt a lot of help
