Hi
On 26th March Im having surgery to straighten my big toe & I cant wait
The pain is so bad it feels like someone is constantly pouring boiled water over it! Plus having my usual joint pain in rest of my joints its now got the better of me & had to go off sick last week
Im on my feet all day long for 8hrs so its not much fun!
Think of me on the 26th

Good luck maria, would love to know how you get on as the next op on my to do list is having both bunions done and all toes straightened & fused, my specialist says he'll do it all at the same time, but i'm not too sure!!
Best of luck, will be thinking of you xx0 -
Hi Maria
I have had the bunion sorted on one foot and the next two toes. It is a year this month since the op. I have no pain but the foot is now even wider than it was before so my Uggs have been a goodsend but I cannot wear them all the year round. Crocs still fit but I am surprised that shoes that I could get on before the op are an impossibility now. I live in hopes but that hope is slowly diminishing. I think the problem if you can call it that, is scar tissue. There are always flip flops for the summer..... Again I emphasise I am no longer in pain.
I wish you all the very best with the op on the 26th. Do let us know how you go on. We like to know these things.
Love

Hi Elna
Thanks for your reply
It must be 5 years since Ive worn decent footwear :!:
I will just be glad to get rid of the intense pain, then the other foot gets done :!:
Pity I cant get an MOT for the rest of me

Thank you
Think of me next Monday morning
Im actually thinking of asking the surgeon if I can watch
Am I mad :?:
Maria0 -
Yup! Some people are able to watch what is happening to them with no qualms whatosever but me? Nope. I much prefer not to know! Good luck with it, I hope it goes well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Maria,
Yikes you want to watch, well if you can go for it but I am afraid that I cannot look when they take bloods from me, so would fall at the first fence!
Fingers crossed for you on Monday, to be in so much pain and having to stand all day is awful.
Good luck,
I x0 -
Thanks everyone
Was told at pre assessment I was having a general anaesthetic I said Im not!
Told I wouldnt need crutches I said I would
At this point she asked if I worked I said yes Im a staff nurse
"Ooops she said just check with the surgeon then"
Oh I do love it when Im right
Normally I never say Im a nurse but she was doing my head in

Hi Maria
I will certainly be thinking about you, I do think that pain is designed to get so bad that we will be happy to get whatever operated on...well not that happy but you know what I mean
Wishing you well with it, and please let us know how you are doing after the op. xxLove

Hi Maria
Hope all goes well for you. Will think of you on the 26th,keep us posted.
I had ankle replacement surgery last year after suffering much pain.Eventually the pain overtakes the apprehension of surgery.I certainly don't regret having it done.

Hi Maria,
Glad everything went well. Did you watch?
Get plenty of rest and enjoy the lovely weather,

Hi Magenta
No I didnt watch didnt ask him though
I was having a spinal & know it can lower your blood pressure
Would have liked to have seen it but never mind
Had my op at 11 & was allowed to go home 6hrs after so I was pretty pleased about that
Take care
