Appointments

Hi all,
Sorry I've not been around lately and I apologize for missed pocket duties.
I've been feeling pretty miserable, this constant flaring is really getting me down.
I've had lots of appointments recently and they all seem to lead to referrals, and so another round of appointments begins. Oh well it gets me out of the house!
At the opticians I failed a glaucoma test so, due to my taking pred, he referred me to a primary care Ophthalmology Specialist, who said I dont have glaucoma, hooray! But my watering eyes which have been treated as dry eyes (something about over compensating), are in fact due to blocked tear ducts. So I have to stop using the drops, (which I've been using for over 4 years) as they will aggravate the condition. I now wait for a hospital appointment to have said tear ducts syringed! Oh joy. Anyone had this done?
Saw rheumy nurse. She was concerned about my hands so referred me to occupational therapy. Lovely girl there I hadn't seen for 3 years. Anyway I have to go back for new splints and exercises and she is referring me to an orthapaedic consultant as she thinks I need surgery on my knuckles and wrists.
On a lighter note, the sun is shining and I can hear and see,
(with binocculars) a Woodpecker drumming in the Chestnut tree at the bottom of my garden. Ahh bliss.
Wishing you all well ,
Numpty

Ah yes, the appointments merry-go-round, I remember it well and am thankful to be shot of it! It all takes time, numpty, and luckily that is something us arthritics can have in spades. As long as your notes are following you around (my hospital is still on paper notes) then hopefully everyone is singing from nearly the same hymn sheet. Oh, BTW, no apologies are necessary for not being about. People here come and go depending on their circumstances but it is lovely to hear from you again. next time it will hopefully be with slightly better news! I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I wish you luck with that one Numpty dont you just get fed up with all the messing about we go through. Four years it took them to find out what it was and do something about it.

Thanks DD and Colin. It's so easy to blame all my ailments on RA or meds. I think the blocked tear ducts are nothing to do with either, or are they?
