I know it sounds daft but I have been awarded a BB again and I'm really pleased.
I didn't know I could get one unless on HRM so when I was refused my DLA last year and was too scared/tired etc to Appeal the decision I thought that's it I just won't be able to go anywhere cos of getting the wheelchair in/out of the car and so forth.
This really cheered me up. All I need now is a good decision on my DLA claim.

Very good news, Fols. I am pleased for you.
Re Higher Rate Mobility Allowance - if you get this your BB is renewed virtually automatically. I think there's also another category of disability which means it's automatic but can't remember what.
Not getting HRM doesn't mean you can't get a BB though. I think it just means more questions and answers and maybe the GP's say so.
Waddle - anyone can apply to their local council for one.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Yes I had to fill in a big form on line and then send in a copy of my driving license and a passport size photo. My GP said he had a request for me and sent it off so that's prob why I got it. I didn't know I could get it without the HRM, my Pain Consultant told me I could and I'm so glad I applied now. Had convinced myself I was going to be turned down.
Waddle - look it up online, you can fill it all in there.
