Hi Guys

I was just reading about the Hosepipe Ban in my area (Thames Water) and there are certain exemptions from the ban for householders where the tenant is a Blue Badge Holder, for example BB holders will still be allowed to use a hosepipe to water their own domestic garden..........may be worth checking out the small print for any bans in your area! :-)

Happy Gardening

Julia :-)

    i know.............madness isn't it?
    Exemption clause (ii) refers.
even allotment holders cant use anything except hand held containers for watering with effect from 5th April 2012

Oh very interesting Julia ...I suppose its because the disabled would struggle with a watering can...but how guilty would you feel :?

i think the clause would be you would have to wear your blue badge around your neck with the time clock showing what time you started watering.

my mum is 86 now and does all the gardening but cant carry the watering cans and nor can i. wonder if i will have to hold her hand when she waters the garden with the hose pipe.

 I dunno about that :o think of the health and safety implications :o lol you would obviously both have to wear hi-vis jackets and safety goggles, maybe some knee pads too, just in case

    Mmmmmm.....

There's a heck of a lot of folks with badges around here :?

    Very odd.

Wonder why they didn't go down the DLA route? or attendence allowance for the over 65's?

    LOve
