These following symbols appear on my mobile phone and I’d like to know what they mean, do you know? Some I could have a guess at but others I haven’t a clue. I have put some on the Net to see what comes up but the lists you have to scroll through send me bogeyed! Any ideas?

Hm. Tricky. At a rough guess I'd say they mean ^+:>*~#<. Could be wrong of course.

Hey Toni, These are the smilies already on my phone for when I want to insert a symbol like £ or & etc.

He is a cutie but what does he mean? ..........I might be swearing at someone if I used it! :shock:

They look like washing instructions to me!

4th from bottom is banging his head probably in frustration.
1 and 6 look like they are talking....

Can't say I have seen many of these. At least you are not like dear Barbara who thought lol meant lots of love and put it at the end of a text to her friend who had lost her pet!

Another one that gets me is how many x ( kisses) you are suppose to give. I think there is a code for that too....

Hi Julie and Clare The Junior School is a good idea but I've not had a police check and it's like getting into a prison!!!! :roll: I'm sure you're not swearing at me Clare I'll ask my niece when I see her she might know.

Linda it also depends on whether you use Capitals or not as well as how many. You just never know what you'll get in return.

I know some of these..... will text you them if i can get my old not equipped with phone to replicate....

they're just expressions and well.... Will check a couple with a child though before i make a fool of my self

Cris you do make me laugh. I'd like to know too when you feel able as it is quite a long list.

Nobody could shed light on the kissing though! I usually stick to 1 or 2 small x- don't want to get carried away.

Fortunately I work in a school so police checks are done (tick).
Unfortunately it is one of those holidays we get so many of so I wont be in there.
Also we cannot use phones near any children.

All that teamed with the government looking at my texts and emails!

I started with no kisses for people I didn't really know, 2 for people I knew quite well and 3 for family and close friends. Then people I didn't know well were sending 2 and people I knew well were sending 3 so I had to start sending an extra one to them and 4 to family. Now family are getting 5, everyone else 4 or 3. Where will it all end?
