Hi
I havent got one but what about a memory foam mattress {not the full bed}
I tend to use a thick duvet under the bottom sheet.
I'm sure others will have suggestions

The golden rule with beds is Try Before You Buy. You mustn’t be afraid of looking a complete wassock in the showroom by lying down, turning over, sitting up and then starting all over again on the next bed.
We used to have a full memory foam mattress. It was certainly much more gently supportive to sleep on but turning over was a major operation as you are more deeply into it than you realise. When we needed a new bed we opted for a fully sprung mattress with the top 2” (3”?) in memory foam. We’ve had it about 3 years now and this, as far as I’m concerned is perfection.
If you like your current mattress you can always buy a memory foam topper but I don't have any experience of these. Happy hunting :PIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I have tried memory foam but like SW says it is hard to turn over in them, then I had a feather bed topper, and I loved it, but after a few years it flattened, so now we have invested in a new mattress from Ike*you can try them out for a month then exchange it for another if you dont like it.
Hope you find something.xLove

Hi there,
Well, I've had a fully sprung mattress plus memory foam topper for about seven years and it's bliss. I'm not sure whether a shop would let you try just the topper before you buy, though, as it's not a major purchase compared with a whole new mattress or bed.
Whatever you decide, hope you get a better night's sleep soon!

Hi,
I got a memory foam topper this week-it's bliss!!!! But some shops were selling cheap ones that had no depth in them-it's maybe worth investing a bit more for comfort-mine was £120 for a kingsize memory foam mattress topper from one of the well known bedding/curtain etc shops.
Hope you get something to help soon-sleepless nights are dreadful.

We have a pocket sprung mattress with a memory foam top built in about 2/3rd mattress and 1/3 memory foam.. IT'S PURE BLISS...!!!
My dad has a 'full' memory foam mattress, and finds it too much - and very difficult to move, that's why we chose the combination one....
Obviously I can't advertise shops ect... but shop around - as many shops have a specialist bed expert - we went into an expensive shop first and they had an expensive gadget bed which you lie on and the machine assesses what your body needs.. Brilliant - and no pressure to buy...!! It gives you idea's of what might help you...
I know the beds are a little pricey but - in my view - you can't put a price on a good nights sleep....!!
The only negative thing I have found is that they do get quite warm...
Good luck - hope you find one that suits your needs...

I have been into a large John Lewis store and been and tried a number of memory foam bed and some of them were bliss others were not... but like many say trial and error is usually the best option. i may have to hide in there one night and actually try one out...0

Now you're talking Moller! Another down-side of memory foam is that it can make you hotter in bed (not in the 'phwoar! sense, rather the sweaty sense). Our ordinary-though-rather-luxurious bed WAS lovely when it was new (eleven years ago now) and for Mr DD it still is. I completely disagree but then as I rarely get comfy in any bed I'm not that surprised. I think it very true that you get what you pay for so it may well be time to start saving so that you can get a better-quality bed. We spend so much time in it it's a wise investment. There are always sales going on but I am no sure of the quality of the beds or the 'offers'. I would suggest that you stay clear of Dr**ms, two people on here have had nightmares dealing with that shower of bedders. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

We too have a pocket sprung matteress with memory foam top layer. They are surposed to be the best on the market. Secret is to try before you buy!! Go have fun at dreams rolling and bouncing on the beds untill you find your perfect bed. We should have a book on which type of bed moller goes for?!! My bet it will be silent night pocket sprung with memory foam layer!!0

Beds ,Well my bed at home is pretty dire ,finance s being what they are relying on my Amytrip ... for a good nights sleep ,The bed I had in hospital was wonderful I think it was similar to the croftmatic ,Ir did everything but cure my O/A..and R/A ... I spent hours going up and down creating comfy humps for my burning knees ... getting my back just right I had the best sleeps ever I went in with my b/p sky high and came home with it almost normal the bed I presume cost a lot and by the end of my 10 days in hospital I am ashamed to say it had developed a terrible squeak I would ajust in height without going a little wonky I hope some one mannaged to sort it out for the next patient  I did own up ... I am sure they are prohibitively expensive but it is definately on my wish list Marrianne .0

We have a pocket sprung with built in memory foam topper too. We used to have a memory foam topper on our old mattress as an interim and that was great too; it's on the spare bed now. My daughter has a memory foam topper on her bed too and we've bought one for nearly everyone who has slept here and commented on how comfortable it was!0

Hello, I've got one matress and 2 matress toppers - heaven.
My suggestion is not so much for a bed but a bed rail. I was offered one - and being me said I didn't want it. I chatted on here and the good people here said don't turn it down - so in the end I had it fitted.
Its lovely - in the morning I can pull myself up and out of bed - in the evening I move around the bed by supporting myself with it.
I hope you get a good comfortable bed, it is; and always has been my 'safe place' I love my bed.0 -
Well I'm going to see the Occupational therapy people in 2 weeks to ask about it, as i was told by a friend that they may be able to help whether or not that is true i do not know but why not try ah?
And i think another trip to a bed store may be a good idea lol... have a cheeky power nap and see if its what I'm after...
And a bed rail now that is a good idea... i wish places would give you a try before you buy scheme surely they'd get so many more sales from it too... Stupid companies are definitely missing out on a trick there...
Does anyone know what the Occupational people are most likely to help with as the internet only offers info on how to bloody become one...(no help to me)
Cheers Guys and Dolls!!!0 -
I have a memory foam topper and love it, glad i tried the topper before going to the expense of a full matress so they are well worth trying first, good luck i hope you find comfort and a good nights sleep xx0

Hi Moller,Try before you buy ? think you can they have a bit of plastic on the end ,This reminded me of an add a few years ago about the Go/lightly family they all bounced on the bed together and lets just say they were a large family ...Good luck to all re beds but my o/t lady made me a night splint advised me to buy a raised toilet seat but no help with anything expensive Marrianne,Wishing everyone a happy Easter weekend0

I got my rail from the OT person. They assesed me and recommended one. Then a chap had to come & fit it (it took aprrox 5 mins - really simple job). Its not big, its sort of A4 size but its a handle and its strong - so you can pull yourself up and along with it.
The lady came out from the council, it doesn't matter if you are council tennant/private etc etc. Briefly it was a walk through my house with areas that give me problems (she left him here though)!!
Bath boards/door rails etc etc
Very worthwhile doing (in my humble) and I've sent a copy to DLA with the dreaded renewal forms which came the other day.0 -
I've got a memory foam mattress topper on our bed, as we'd not long had a new mattress when found out that memory foam is sometimes helpful and it really has made a difference to me - I know when we go away and I sleep on an uncovered bed! I also have a memory foam pillow, which helps my neck, I think. But as you don't know if it will help you the double mattress is expensive, and what suits one person may not help you. I'd try the topper first, I think if I were you, if thats the way you are thinking of going. Unless you have a friend who will let you try their matteress!!! We had just bought a new bed, with a metal frame and its a lot higher than usual, that seems to make it easier for me to get up.
I hope you find whats right for you, its an expensive thing to go wrong, apart from being painful.

Hi hun
I ordered a new bed which arrived yesterday and last night had a lovely nights sleep. Its a latex bed which are supposed to not give as much as a memory foam bed. I felt like i was sleeping on my bed rather then in it if that makes sense.
I know u cant advertise brands but mine is a well known brand which sounds like an animal but with a y at the end lol. They speacailise in supportive beds.
Also if u buy from b**sons for beds u get 40 nights to try thebed then if dont like it u can exchange it for another bed
Hth

This has been really helpful - I got an adjustable bed with memory foam mattress 15 months ago but I find moving around difficult. I got satin sheets and they helped a lot so that I can move around.
I thought it was just me, I didn't realise other people sank into them too!0
