Hi I am having a really bad time for the last couple of days , I have inflamatory arthitis and OA . My neck and shoulders are really bad and cause me a lot of trouble, i take strong pain killers for it , wheat bags , ibergel forte but the last couple of days it isnt doing any good , the pain is going up into my head on one side it is really painful i cant think for it. I have spent 2 days laid on the sofa .
I wondered if anyone else had trouble with pain in their head .I also have sjorgens and thyroid trouble but i dont think it is anything to do with that .
I hope you are all having a nice easter and not in to much pain ....jillyx

Hi jilly...sorry to hear you having so much pain...with all these things when you have multiple health problems its always best to get hold of you GP or other health professional...i to have arthur in my kneck(aswell as other places) and this gives me terrible pain into my head...i use powergel on to the back of my kneck then put a soft collar on and immobalise...pain killers and keep still with head supported...thats what works for me...it might for you..but if you can get hold of your gp it could help...hope you feel better soon.

I’m sorry, jilly. That sounds nasty, especially over a Bank Holiday. I, too, have a neck support though my understanding is that they should only be worn for brief periods. You might be able to buy a cheap one from your local pharmacy tomorrow but head pain is always worrying so, if in doubt, contact NHS Direct, either by phone or online. I’m not sure I’d want to be lying on a sofa with head pain. I think I’d either want my neck properly supported on my memory foam pillow or I’d want to be sitting up with it straight. We’re all different though. Sorry I can’t be much help.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi...yes i'd agree with stickywicket...lying down would make me feel sick...sitting up with supported head..and NHS direct and yes imsure you could get a soft collar from some-where like boots...

Jilly, I don't know what to say apart from I think you may need some professional help with this. I know from personal experience that a tense neck and shoulders can lead to headaches, and I am fortunate in that I have a masseur who can ease such troubles but I think your trouble needs proper medical help. Is there an emergency clinic tomorrow you could attend? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Jilly,

I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I agree with the others and think you need to phone NHS24. When I get the headachey pain, I try and rest as much as I can and use my heat pillow.

    Sending (((((())))))

    Hi Jilly,

Sorry to hear that you are in so much pain, i too have RA in the neck, and its terrible. If you have a Lloyds pharmacy near to where you live, you can get a soft collar for £4.00 has i got one the other day, they come in small, medium and large sizes, they take a bit of getting used to but they might help.

Hope you feel better soon, i really sympathise with you

    Love
