Hi Guys....hope you are all well as can be and having a good easter.
I had my mri yesterday and boy was I in pain when I came out, not anything to do with the scan but my back/hip was killing me and I had to be helped off the table Before I went in the nurse said the process would take 20 to25 mins, well, 1 hour later I come out, no wonder I hurt laying still on my back for that long . And I felt so drained when I got home, mentally as well as physically. Any ways it's over now and just have to wait to see rheumy on the 10th may for results. x Dee x

Hi dee
Gosh an hour that is such a long time in one of those, I had my back done in two lots..20mins and one half hour.. to be honest I nearly pulled the cord on the half hour one...but I just thought well I will have to do it all again...so you really did well..I hope you get the answers you want.
Good luck xxLove

Well done, Dee. I think it's all the concentration on keeping still that's very mentally tiring. Couple that with joints that dislike being in the same position on a hard couch - no wonder yours are protesting. I hope the results are 'good'.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Well done Dee. An hour? I can't keep still for more than a couple of minutes. Doubt I could have done it.Christine0

Hi there, thank you for your replies.
It was very much mind over matter in the scanner. I nearly pressed the buzzer a couple of times but just kept thinking it will be over soon, get it done and over with. I really didn't want to go and do it all again. If I need to have one again I'm going to ask if I can lay on my tummy because that is the most comfortable position for me. x Dee x0 -
I've only ever had my knees scanned and that was about 25 minutes tops. It can be uncomfortable - on one occasion my left knee was very large and they had to force it into the knee holder thingy, having taken out the soft padding within, that was horrid. And my feet always get cold! They do make a strange assortment of noises, don't they? Mind you, so do I. I hope you hear the results soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Yes DD they certainly make some strange nioses I had to have a cage thingy over my head to keep me still and a long cage thing over my body because they were scanning my whole spine and my sacroilliac joints. My legs kept spontaneously jumping though, maybe thats why it took so long. They also pulled me out and asked if I had anything metal around my waist but I'd only got the hospital gown on and my knickers (no metal in them though OH might disagree there ) x Dee x0
