Hi all I hope you are enjoying Easter Sunday and there is some chocci involved.
I ended up at the out of hours surgery on Saturday after starting a sudden flare on Friday. Had to be bank holiday weekend didn’t it! One hand I could have coped with but both hands were so swollen that even the slightest touch sent me yelping. Feet weren’t far behind and shoulder tendonitis joined in. So after the doctor glanced at my hands he rang up my hospital rheumy registrar I am now on 30mg Preds reducing over the next few weeks. Not had them before and have taken two lots so far. A couple of fingers came back at three o’clock this morning and although I don’t feel very well in myself my joints are improving.
I am disappointed as my bloods had improved in the last few months, a few mini flares but nothing like this for months. Fingers crossed that it is a blip and things will settle down again.
Mtx night too, oh well in for a penny as they say.
Thanks for reading this,

Well, Ironic, you certainly know how to party Not quite the Bank Holiday you'd planned, I imagine. I'm glad the doc was on the ball and got you sorted with the pred. I hope it does a good, all-round job and you can then wave it goodbye. Let's know how things go.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi I,
Sorry you have had the flare flower and glad to read the preds are reducing it a bit and some fingers have come back. I hope you will soon feel better and laving you a ((((( ))))) and a happy bank holiday draft with more chocolate Cris xx0 -
Arthritis is never subtle in its timing is it? I am so sorry you have had your holiday week-end spoiled by this, Ironic, it's not on. I have always found oral pred to be very good at relieving the worst of symptoms - in fact I began to feel the difference in me just two hours after my first ever dose of 20mg waaaaaaay back in Feb 07. For me it's luvverly stuff! I hope that you are now feeling better than you were and that the swelling etc has eased. Please let us know how things are going, yes? DD
PS Hello Collywobble! It's lovely to hear from you again.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi 'I' lovely to see you ....and you too Lynn!
It's always a weekend or a bank holiday when things go wrong isn't it?
I'm so glad you got seen and sorted with your Preds. I hope things continue to settle down.
I had one mini egg yesterday, it was all I could manage after a big meal but I had to have one because it was Easter Sunday!

Hi Lynn! Oh you have cheered me up, so pleased that you have turned the corner and are finally starting to feel you are getting somewhere. Go slowly there flower, no use rushing things when you are nearly there.
Not got the energy boost as yet but I am will have to have a think what to do when it comes..clear the garage or going shopping for a full afternoon..Decisions decisions.
Thanks Sticky, DD, Cris and Linda,
Timing is not good with RA and I am just sorry that it has messed up one of Mr. Ronic’s few and far between breaks. Not that he cares but you know what I mean.
I looked like a bag o’rags with manic hair when I saw the doctor, hubby had to dress me and he was so worried about hurting me, after sitting in the waiting for two and half hours I was just glad to get seen. The joints are a lot better and I have had third lot of preds which should finally put them right. I seem to always take longer to have reaction to meds so hopefully I will start to pick up soon, bit of mtx tummy I think. Couldn’t get into the chucky egg box Linda so will have a late choc out very soon. Good news that I have gone back to having my proper cup for my tea. I have been using half full thermos flask plastic cup thingy, smash proof and fatter to hold. Oh Cris thanks for the sand top up, will met you and Lynn at the lovely sandpit. I do hope that things get easier for you soon.
Thanks for all your replies, good to share when things go awry. Will have to make an appointment with dr next week to get next supply of preds and hospital are supposed to be getting in touch too.
Hugs,
I x0
