I am waiting for a scan of my neck due to my gp finding lymph nodes around my neck area. Has anyone else got these nodes and what was the treatment for them.

I still got pains from arthritis in the neck and shoulder area but now there is these nodes there as well.

    Hi Emily.

Everybody has lymph nodes in the neck. They usually swell if you have an infection.
I recently have had tonsillitis and also larygitis and my lymph nodes were really bulging from neck I had large bumps all over my neck.
They were also tender to touch.

They went back to normal after a week of being on penicillin.
I have never been sent for a scan because of this though.

Sorry I can't help more. All the best. Darwin.

Darwin is spot on. We all have lymph nodes all over the place but when they swell that can indicate an infection of some kind. Some seem to have lymph nodes that swell more readily than others. Also, those of us on immuno-suppresant meds can find our nodes up before we've even twigged we've a cold or throat infection or some such.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    HI

The lymph nodes in my neck are up most of the time my GP says its due to immuno suppressants, and mild infections they sometimes get really bad and I cant move my neck and thats when Ive usually got a major infection. Ive never had a scan of my neck though.
