It's the 'swings and roundabout syndrome' Tilly. But hey look at all these posts of support for you! you see people are so kind and always willing to help where they can. You are obviously a very valued member of this forum Tilly. You need to take it easy for a while till you get your old fighting spirit back. A few weeks from now and you will be saying did I really feel so low. :)

I'm sorry you had a bad day, Tilly, though I'm pleased you managed to post about it. I'd no idea you suffered from narcolepsy. That must be scary.

It's good that you're picking up a bit now and, as Suzygirl says, hopefully in time to have a good weekend. I hope you have something nice planned.

    Hi Tilly,
Good news that the telephone call with the eye clinic was more reassuring. But I am sorry that you are still having to do all the running to sort things out.
I think you are right to give yourself time to step back for a couple of weeks, I hope you do hear some positive news and advise from one of the team soon.
Oh Tilly sorry you have had another setback today, always at weekend with these things isn’t it. I hope the weekend improves for you and with rest and having someone with you makes it less scary.
    Lots of gentle hugs,
    I x

    Thank you all so much.

Not anything like so sleepy today thank goodness (Sticky, the narcolepsy has never been formally diagnosed, but that was was the doc felt was going on after a couple of very bad episodes lasting several days at a time over Christmas. It is a known, albeit unusual side effect of one of my non-arthritis meds but thankfully occurs infrequently).

Today it's back to the horrible, unrelenting stomach pains and nausea - different symptoms, same outcome - unable to do anything or go anywhere. Just gets better and better eh

None of this is new - things have been like this for several years now, so you'd think I'd get better at dealing with it. Hey ho.

    Thanks again all.

    Tillyxxx

PS - just want to say I promise I'm not going to turn into someone who just posts here to moan and never supports anyone else. Just not coping at all well at the moment and, even though I may not be posting on many other threads, I do read them, and I do think of you all and post when I feel I can.

Hey Tilly, you moan away Chucky egg, we all know how it is so no one minds when we need a good old moan. It actually helps to get it all off your chest and write down exactly how you feel especially as we all put on a brave 'I'm ok' face to the world around us.

Make sure you rest up as best you can hunnie.

Oh Tilly, I think you must be the only person on this forum who thinks there is any possibility of you ‘turning into someone who just posts here to moan and never supports anyone else’. The rest of us know you better than that.

I’m sorry your weekend hasn’t started off well. Narcolepsy is very limiting. I knew someone whose father had it.

As for the stomach pains and nausea – is that meds too? What, if anything, eases it? You are coping with symptoms and side effects that would lay many of us low. Don’t apologise, Tilly. None of this is your fault.

I hope things improve for you over the weekend.

Thanks so much - again for your support and kind words.

My inner human is thinking about making an appearance  and, I am definitely feeling better now than I was earlier.

I have a suspicion that the stomach pain is, at least in part, down to the large amounts of codeine I have been taking. Have been taking only minimal amounts of low dose over the counter co-codamol today instead of the prescribed higher dose ones and will see if that helps. And I do take my Lanzoprazole religiously. Mind you, like most of us I take so many pills for so many things that it could just be my poor insides rebelling at the constant barrange of pills.

    Thanks again.

Hello Tilly. I hope your inner human has managed to get to the fore again.

Meds and stomach? A bad combination. If you ever solve it please let me know. So often it's just a choice of what to suffer from today  And then the juggling act.

Awww Tilly, don't think of it as a wasted day. Call it a rejuvenating day where by you rest, recharge the batteries, recalibrate your engine and hopefully wake up with a bit more oomph. If you don't then you just need to recharge again. It's not wasted, just used for quieter purposes.

    Big hugs hunnie.
