Hi All, I went to the hospital Friday and asked the question about the flushes was it RA or medication, no clear answer but RA flare was the most likely.

I am in Limbo again, Leflunomide hasn't done any good whatsoever, I should have added Sulfasalazine this weekend but when I went to the hospital on Friday they asked was I allergic to anything, when I told them I am allergic to Asprin they said I couldn't take Sulfasalazine and they would have to decide what I could take. I am expecting a phone call tomorrow or Tuesday with the verdict.

    Hello Sylvia :D

So sorry to read about you experiencing hot flushes and the link with RA.... not what you wanted to hear? ..and then to be told that you can't start on your new med!

It's difficult not to feel let down when a treatment plan doesn't go ahead as expected, but I guess your docs are being cautious and looking after your best interests.

I do hope that you get a phone-call on Tuesday advising you of a suitable alternative that you can start soon.... and that will be effective!

I hope Tuesday brings some good news and effective treatment, Sylvia. Fingers crossed.

My rheumie said the inflammation would make me feel hot so I blame the flushes on that.
Hope you get your meds sorted out quickly.

    Hi Muffy,
I get hot flushes too, mostly during the night, but I am in a flare at the moment so getting them back during the day too.
I do hope they get back to you on Tuesday and can offer you an alternative to the Sulfa. These things take time to work so it is for the best that they are cautious as to what to give you next.
Let us know how things go, wont you.
