Hello- I hope you got your rhumie! - I understand how you feel-Im fed up with having to explain myself over and over again with anyone I meet in the medical profession- I rarely see the same GP at my practice twice!- I dont think this helps as I dont think they get the whole picture so ive started to ask for one doctor in particular. I hope he will get to know me and understand what Im going through- what I consider to be he good doctors(the ones that show interest take time and appear to care!) at my practice are booked up to 3 weeks in advance tho so ive started to make appointments early that will follow my hospital appointment so that I can discuss things with him. Ive recently been diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritus and have found this forum really helpfull. Good luck!

My letters tend to say the consultant or one of his team, but I always end up seeing the consultant who usually deals with me, although I could have been lucky. When I'm preparing for my appointments, I tend to write a list of my symptoms - what's gotten worse and what's improved, what's stayed the same since the last appointment and any questions that I have. It might be useful if you have a think about what you want from the appointment - is it additional pain relief, a firm diagnosis or something else? I've found I have gotten more out of the appointment when I am prepared.

I hope that the appointment is positive for you, I can empathise with seeing different people all of the time, it can be very frustrating having to explain yourself anew to each professional.

It can be pot luck, depending on the hospital. Whoever you see I hope all goes well and you remember all your questions - and the answers :)
