They are a blessing if you hate hospitals, they have helped me so much, its the best thing that happened to me getting referred to the pain clinic, and you normally see the same person most times, which is a bonus as they get to know you better, and can offer more defined info based on yourself.

    Hi Jane,

You go under the same pain clinic as me and well flower I know how much they have helped me!

Doctor W I can so recommend, she has pulled out all stops and done so much to help me I will be forever in her debt i think!

I don't know what the others are like but we have a good pain clinic and the good practice must run through them all I should think?

My first appointment was nearly 4 years ago... I felt them that it was like they were in the '80's and was quite sceptical but I was wrong!

She gave me a form to fill out... lot of questions about what it wa doing to you life wise. marks to go 1 to 10 in respect of how much pain, how much it impacted on life and a whole lead of questions to help her understand just what the impact to me was...

I think that's stranded questions here.

Then she talked me through the options and has been helping big time ever since!

I really hope you will get the same kind of help fro who ever you see but I so hope it will be Doc W you get to see... she understands back and neck pain so well.

You hang in there and I so hope you will get seen soon... when I was 1st referred there was some waiting list but it was so worth the wait!

Leaving ((((( ))))) and tea with a hope the rain has left you now. Cris xx

    Hiya

I was so sceptical about being sent to the Pain Clinic but now I am so pleased my doctor referred me.

At last I had someone listening to me about ALL my aches and pains and proper advice and help.

I'm having acupuncture (on NHS) thanks to my Pain Doc. I've had 6 facet joint injections and although they have sadly not worked I know when I go back I can sensibly discuss my options etc.

The first appointment can be a bit tiring as they want to know everything and I would say write down a list before you go so you don't miss anything.

Good luck with it. I really hope you have as much success.

    Dear Barking

so sorry l missed you previous thread but l have read it and must say my heart goes out to you :(

But on the upside pain clinics are so the best place to go - they really are the eperts in pain so will do their very best to help you.

EVEN better to hear it will be the same clinic as Cris attends because she has had so much pain and they have been really good as she said.

    LOve and luck
