Tender bones

When getting dressed the other day I noticed that my ribs were tender to touch so I checked the rest of my bones out of curiosity.

If I press on my ribs, collar bone, hips, shoulders, knees (and probably other bones that I didn't test) they really hurt for a few seconds.
Is this to do with the OA in my spine do you think or ought I to go and mention it to the doctor? I expect my joints to hurt when touched but was surprised to find my ribs and collar bones did.

I am waiting for an appointment with an orthopaedics specialist to try to find out what is going on in my spine. It has been a month now and when I rang yesterday they had no idea when I would get an appointment. Apparently it is up to the specialist how soon he sees patients.

All my joints feel tender at the moment and my whole body feels cold but that's from this horrible flu bug that's going around!! I really hope it eases off and hope your not getting this flu bug!!

    Hi
I would mention this to your GP,to me it sounds like Fibro, apparently there are pressure points that cause pain , and it sounds has if you have a few of them, or like somebody else has said you could be coming down with something.
Hope it all goes has quick as it came..x

    Hi Polly,

I have the same, very tender and hurting bones in the chest area, ribs, sternum and collar bones. Sometimes the scapulars as well.

You need to get it checked out flower. In my case it means the pa is having a flare and it can lead to feeling like your being cut in half as well. Run it past your doc and the ortho's when you see them. Hang in there. Cris x

Hi polysid... Iv got fibro and when i press most areas especially, over bones,it is painful...but its a particular pain ..it hurts when you first press then when you release it actually builds up to a worse deeper pain which takes quite a while to die down....i think any new pain you should run past your GP or rhuemy nurse...
