Hi
Well thanks for all the support today. I'm back. Basically he said that the socket was OK.....it was a question mark against it coming away from the pelvic bone but it was OK.
The next thing was that he said that if that aspiration had worked i would have got relief from pain for at least a few days because they had injected an anaesthetic into the hip. He had asked me to keep a pain diary ...which I did and it was worse for a the first few days afterwards.....he is pretty certain its my back that is the cause of it. I know I've got kypho scoliosis but he says that appears to be where the hip pain is mostly coming from.
He wants an MRI on my back so I'm waiting for an appointment for that.
Then he will ring me and make an appointment with a back specialist in the same hospital. And get his opinion.
He has sent me to a back specialist in another hospital who said that there was nothing they could do.....but he wants a 2nd opinion. So thats it for now.
Love
Hileena

    Hi Hileena

I wish you all the best with the MRI. I would encourage you to be seen by a scoliosis specialist. I hope your ortho is of the same opinion when referring you for a second opinion.

    Hi Mig and Elna
Elna ...I've never actually heard of a scoliosis specialist......I suppose there must be one.
Ortho knows I've got scoliosis and he was putting his message on tape to be typed when I was there and mentioned it quite a few times then talked about spinal stenosis.
Any advice would be very helpful.....knowing that you know all about it LOL
We used to be the main spinal place in the North East and then that was taken over by 2 Newcastle Hospitals {dont know all the details} so we lost our hydrotherapy pool and all the back doctors. It was only today I discovered we had one......He {ortho} referred to him as the Head Man??

    Dear Hileena

To find out where your nearest scoliosis specialist centre is contact:
    020 8964 5343.
There is also a helpline and the number is 020 8964 1166.

I do not think that you need be a member of Sauk (Scoliosis Association (UK)) to contact them on either number.

    Worth a try anyway....

    My Dear Hileena

Gosh! Socket is ok yes....that's good at least :) .

But you must be worried about the pain....second opinion may seem fultile but IS necessary. He probably wants to be able to discuss your case with someone.

MRI is a great idea. Hope it's soon.

    Thinking of you

    Love and HUGS

    Hi Hileena
I was the same with the injections and camera, the pain was worse for a couple of days then it was back to normal, I see my specialist in May gosh knows what he will say.
Dont you just feel dizzy going round and round, hopefully you MRI will show something up, good luck with it all.

Hello Hileena, I am glad that you have at least one answer - your hip socket is OK - hurrah! As for the other, well it's par for the course on here, isn't it? One step forward, two or three back, more appointments, more telling the story to yet ANOTHER doc, more waiting for scans, letters and a proper answer. Grrrrrrrrrr. On the plus side, however, at least you are being referred to someone who might have a small clue as to what is going on with you - another hurrah! I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi DD
As you say one step forward 2 steps back  but at least its not the socket which I think would have been a biggie to repair.
We didnt have a back doc in this hospital until recently and the other one I saw said nothing they could do so I dont hold out much hope for that either ...cant see them doing much in the line of surgery {dont want it either  } but what else can be done??? Just have to wait and see and hope that it doesnt take long for the MRI appt to come through.

    Love
