Hello,
I have arthritis all over my body. Osteoarthritis, and RA, Nodular, and have osteporosis. A month ago my docotor took me off Zopiclone at night which helped me get off to sleep. I am struggling here as I lie down and the pains get worse in my shoulders, back and worse the neck. I am propped around with my cold pads( not ice packs). I now lie awake all night in agony. Im on Tramadol, and my doctor has also halved my prescription of Tramadol recently too. They tell me on reception that it is due to Goverment cuts. I take Arcoxia(Etorocoxib) that helps but I nhad to fight to get that back as they took that off my repeat prescription too. I was doing fairly ok before all this, just managing to cope with every day of intense pain, and now I am not coping at all. I try to keep cheerful, but its difficult. I would love to hear from someone else who is in this sort of situation. Thanks and enjoy your day.

O my gosh - I am SO sorry to hear your situation...
That GP information does seen VERY harsh...
I know "Zopiclone" is a very addictive medication (I too take it every night) and GP's have been asked to cut down on prescribing these kinds of addictive medications, but surely every case is different.... and this seems really unreasonable in your case...
I would ask your GP for a reasonable explanation, or whether he/she could recommend something else to help you sleep..
Best of luck

Zopiclone is inteneded as a short term med only. Have you tried amitriptyline to help you sleep? A few of us take it with success, just a suggestion.0
