My friend at work has just had her first baby. A lovely little girl who she has called Elizabeth. Apparently, the name has got nothing to do with the Diamond Jubilee this year, but it got me thinking...
What would you call a baby girl born today and why?

I like kayleigh, it's the name of the girl in the Marillion song, and I also like Dujour, it's the name of the girl who has a white rabbit tattoo and is in the group of people who visits Neo at his room in the matrix.0

I like some of the girl's names from Shakespeare eg Miranda, Helena, Emilia0

I originally wanted to call my daughter Venetia (lady of Venice) but my then-husband wouldn't let me name a kid after a form of window blind!0

Congratulations to your friend on her great choice of name for her new daughter!
Still love Charlotte and Lucy which are my girls names. My first born was Stefanie but that was her dad's choice.
Thirza is a family name and would love to have snuck that in somewhere but wasn't brave enough.
Always dreamt I would have an Isobel but now hoping that dream won't come true!
Girls names are easy but always struggled with the boys names!
