Can anyone answer me this question is there any anti inflammatory drug that you can take whilst taking blood pressure tablets either Ibuprofen or Voltarol any answer would be appreciated. My pain killers of paracetamol and Tramadol just aren't working at the moment and I am in such a lot of pain particularly at night going to see my Consultant next week also my GP to try and get something sorted Anything for the short term would be usefull!!

I take bp meds and all I know is that I take the anti inflam, etoricob/arcoxia, two wonderful little blue pills daily and they help me SO much. I thought three days ago I would stop them to see if they were really helping and the answer was defo a Yes, Yes, so am back taking them and it is bliss.

Diclofenac is great but after a few years they no longer agreed with me, hence being prescribed the one I am on now.

I have diclofenac for occasional use and I too am on BP meds. I hope your GP can help and that you are continuing to go from post-op strength to strength. DD

Been having a really bad time this past few weeks my THR is great but the unbelievable pain I am experiencing in my knee is really getting to me I knew the knee would be the problem (already had it replaced but didn't work well) because of it being brought into line with the hip but no one told me it would be this bad. I suppose the exercises I do attempt to do really exacerbate the problem and untill things ease off it will hurt but why oh why does it always hurt so much at night !!

Joint pain is always at its worst at night or so I have found, no answer to why though except everything seem to be worse if one cannot sleep when most other people are.

    Hello Wendgro

Sorry you are having such a struggle at the moment. I am on BP meds and I take the NSAIDS Diclofenac (Voltarol) or Meloxicam regularly.

Hope your doc is able to suggest something when you go.

    Thinking of you.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with knee pain (on top of everything else). I agree that pain seems worse at night but I think that's because the world goes 'quiet' and the usual daytime distractions are not there. Night is also the time we are supposed to sleep but as we often cannot, due to pain and discomfort, that makes things worse too. :( I am sure things will get better, Wendgro, I just wish I could tell you when but alas . . . . . . Take care and keep in touch. DD

    Hi wend

Just popping by to say good to see you. Sorry you are still in some pain though :(

I take arcoxia like Elna, but have low BP so nothing for that.

Hope you can get something to help sooner rather than later

    Love
