Hi
Well after yesterdays post decided to get in touch with patient relations and say how i felt about waiting for my TKR...The woman was fine but insisted my first point of contact was my GP to talk it through with them....Did again explain to me why they want younger patients such as myself to put off surgery for as long as possible (im 43).....And that if my consultant has made up his mind he wont change it for me...
So rang up doctors and cant get an appointment for 2 weeks so im in limbo again....Really really fed up and again sorry, but nothing seems to be going right at moment.....

Oh Elaine
I'm sorry to hear this......... :-(
had thought you would have had some joy.........and as for waiting 2 weeks or more to see your docs..........thats ridiculous!
I think they need to see you insisting on the Op even if you are only 43......everyone is an individual and they cannot leave you any longer! It will cost the NHS more in the long run if you are left :-(
bless you..........big hugs (((0))) xx0 -
Elaine I have never understood this age thing, yeah you will probably need another in time to come, but when you are in pain its the last thing on your mid...you just want it to go away.
Hopefully something will come of your appointment, fingers crossed for you xLove

I dont understand this age thing......if you really need a new joint why can you not have it now when you are young enough to make good use of it??

Hi Julia
Well no i hit the proverbial brick wall and im sick of hearing why THEY want me to hold off on the surgery, what about ME, you know the person who is having the operation?
Two weeks is bad for my doctor too, have never had to wait that long, flipping typical aint it when i really want to see her asap...
I wish the NHS could feel our emotions, not just see us as a number but in reality thats all we are really...
Thanks for hugs...
