Hi
Having coped and finally had enough of Methotrexate side effects for 18 months, I now have a Leflunomide prescription.
Just wondering if anyone has taken this and had good results ?
Thanks xx

I tried lef and got nowhere, but I do remember someone posting on here last year extolling its virtues and stating that they had their life back - it's disappointing tho understandable that they don't post too often. I certainly hope that it works that way for you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi
I have been taling Leflunomide for about 8 months now. Very glad to say no side effects other than a rise in blood pressure which I just got another pill for and about a 30% improvement in the arthritis
Hope you get a good result from them

Hi, Ihave been on lefluminide for six months. I have found that it has helped but i have suffered quite a lot of weight loss {14lb in six months and still losing} I too tried metx but had terrible mouth ulcers all the time. Am due to see the rhumy soon about the weight thing so it could be drug no 3 soon. However, we are all different so it could be great for you.We dont know until we try do we? And try we do...0

Hi dancing Girl.
I took leflunomide very successfully for nearly 3 years.
Apart from the first few weeks when I had some stomach upset (rheumy nurse said that is very common but usually gets better over time apparently) I had no problems, and the drug worked very well in combination with the MTX injections.
However, for me it wasn't to be, as I developed a very itchy rash which was eventually put down to the leflunomide. I was gutted, as it did do the job arthur wise.
however, I wouldn't have missed those 3 years for anything! and even now there are days when I wonder if the rash wouldn't be preferable to some of the problems I have with some current meds
As with most of our meds, the only way to know how each one of us will react is to try it ourselves.
good luck!!
