What's been going on, Numpty?!
I haven't been able to get onto the forum for days now, everytime I tried, every way, from my favourites, personal email account and The Forum homepage, I just got a message on the screen saying "General Error - unable to fetch this page"... or something. Don't know quite how I managed to get on just now and I can see yours is the first new post since 4th May. Rang the Helpline this morning but the lady said she couldn't help me but yes, there had been a problem.
Hope they've fixed it now and that everyone is okay.Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.0 -
the forum crashed on friday for a while, then saturday crashed completely ,so with it being a bank holiday it took till today to get the forum back up.
Hope everyone is as good as can be. Mig0 -
I thought that must have been the case, mig.
Let's hope it's all been sorted and fixed and we're up and running again.
It made me realise how much the support, encouragement, friendship, advice and general feeling of belonging to a comunity of fellow-sufferers means to me.
I'm sure others feel the same way too.Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.0 -
Hurrah! Hello everyone, by crikey I missed you all over the Bank Holiday. I had the SQL error message on Thursday, then it was sorted, but the forum was down again all over the break - apparently AC put something on their FB page to let people know but as not everyone FB's a few were left in the dark. Oh it's lovely to be back! Happy Tuesday, one and all. DD
PS. I completely agree with your second paragraph, Puschinka, there is nothing quite like this forum anywhere else in cyber-world - well, not that I've found.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
What's an FB page, DD ? :? Sorry if it's a sttupid question...
Yes - I was totally in the dark and feared the forum might have totally disappeared or something. That would be tragic!
I've had a very stressful week all round and some negative and worrying news and will post re that later.
For now, I am just sooo glad everybody is still here!
You're right DD, this forum is quite unique and I have actually felt like some very good friends of mine have mysteriously disappeared out of my life forever, without a trace.
Hoe all is well with you and your Mum.xxLife is what happens while you're busy making other plans.0 -
FB is facebook. I don't use it (neither do I tweet) but I am fortunate in that I have a number of people's mobile numbers (and they have mine) so I was able to keep in touch with some over the BH week-end. Technology is a wondrous thing but oh boy - don't we feel its loss when it fails? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I went onto the Arthritis Care main page and found an email address. I received an email back this morning from someone called Sharon saying that it had been fixed.
I only found the FB page last night.
Good to be back.0 -
Sorry folks! we had a problem with the system, but hopefully everything is now back to normal.
Hope you all had a nice weekend...

It is a shame that it happened over a bank holiday weekend. Many rely on this forum. This has also happened at weekends with no explanation on the site. I am on other forums and they are never down for long. Perhaps it should be addressed by the powers that be!

I will pass this comment on Elna...

I`m still having problems. Can only get on by going to my history and then it suddenly throws me out. I know i don`t post very often, ( i don`t feel qualified to advise) but i do read the posts most days.
Best Wishes everyone

Tis good to be back... I worry about you lot you know.
I think its really the case that AC is a charity and all charities are suffering with lack of donations etc..... They can't afford a full time forum person and most of it is run cus people give up their time for free. Most also have some form of arthritis and may not be too well at times.
It would have had to wait for someone from the people that (is it called) host it to come back to work and that was possibly why it was gone so long?
It makes you realize how important it is to us that use it and also how glad I am that folk give up their time and are there to keep it going out of the goodness of their hearts basically.
I just wish I was able to raise money for AC cus I owe it my sanity (or whats left of it) at the very least
Dilly never feel your not qualified, you are as much as any of us and everyone's experiences are so welcome. Jump in where ever you want flower.
Polly Sharon is the webmanager but she can only be part time cus basically AC is kinda broke..... Back to how to raise some money....
Sorry too many oxy's and lambs bottles make Cris a rambler..... Tis nice to see you all though xx0
