Hi Everyone,

Its good to have the forum back again!

I have recently started having a severe pain in my left foot, particularly when I put weight down or have been sitting for a while.

I have RA in my right knee and right hip, but have never experienced pain in my left foot before, however the pain is different from RA so I am not really sure what it is.

Got an appointment at the docs next week.

Hi Debrakelly, Is the pain in the bottom of your heel? If so it could be Plantar Fasciitis. I have this and it's very painful, but helped immensely by gel inserts in my shoes.
    Wishing you well,
    Numpty

That was my thinking too Numpty, great minds etc! I too have plantar f, it feels as though I am standing on a spike which goes up into my foot via the centre of my heel - is this similar to what you are feeling Debra? It's horrid but does ease over time. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Those of you that have PF - have you ever tried the 'boot'?
I had it a couple of years ago and the foot specialist gave me a plastic boot splint thingy to wear at night. It was horrible to wear, some nights I would wake up thinking it was stopping the circulation in my leg and take it off, but I pervevered most of the time and it did work after a few weeks.
I haven't had it any more luckily.
Just a note - mine was only really bad first thing in the morning, but I did get the treatment fairly quickly.
