Hi all been to see my consultant today for my 6week check on my THR all is going very well much better than last time HOWEVER THE KNEE PROBLEM I told him I had been in purgatory with the knee since the op how extremely painfull it was and I was back on my full meds. He sympathised with me and did understand I do have a wobble in my knee (had TKR 4yrs ago) he IS hoping by doing the hip it will bring the knee into line thus the pain I have been experiencing with physio. Got to go back in 3mths to see how it is progressing he will then decide what further treatment may be done to alleviate the pain. It's so very early days after the THR and perhaps we are all expecting too much too soon Wendy

That's good news. He's aware of the situation, is monitoring it but expects that things will improve. I do hope so. What I would take from that is that you maybe need to give things a bit longer to settle down than you might otherwise expect and keep giving priority to the rest and exercises and keep everything else on the back burner so as to give your knee it's best shot at getting better.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

That is good news Wendgro, I am so pleased for you. It makes sense to me that the knee is hurting as it is suddenly (and very surprisingly for it!) finding itself being 'forced' back to a position it has forgotten existed. Stick with it my lovely, I am sure that over time the pain will ease as your knee becomes acclimatised to its new home. Keep up with the exercises and take pain relief as and when - but most importantly keep in touch, we like reading progress reports! DD
