I live near Spalding, a pretty little market town, (well it used to be, but that's another story!) on the River Welland. Spalding has a water taxi. A very nice little boat to take you through the town.
Last thursday, the Water Taxi was grounded for the day, due to floods. That in itself is quite ironic, but, yes, you guessed it. We are in the drought area!

    Oh the irony! I dimly recall visiting Spalding (many moons ago now) but I didn't know it had one of those. The only water taxis I have used were in Venice - they were wonderful. DD
