Hello fellow forum-ers
I'm a Rheumatoid of 37 years, since age 7.... and I need your help - my self portrait photograph of my severely affected RA hands was recently on show at a London Art Exhibition..... Arthritis Research UK helped promote it - see attached FB link...
http://www.facebook.com/arthritisresearchuk
I now need lots and lots of votes in support of my photograph to win a competition to have a photo shoot session with David Beckham.... I want to take a picture of his hands with mine to raise awareness for RA and raise funds for arthritis charities..... Can you take time to vote at the link below?..... can you share with your friends and family to vote too?......... i'm planning a project to photograph the hands of other arthritics and high profile patrons of arthritis charities and would love to hear from any willing participants from here.......... PLEASE GET VOTING - VOTING CLOSES ON 18 MAY 2012.......

Hello dear Barbara, on this lovely, sunny day or it is here! You are right, the links do not appear to be working on LWA zone but if you go to the Say Hello zone on the forum, where Tracy posted yesterday, the links do work. I suggested she may get more response if she posts on LWA. It seems something has happened to the link in the process. :?
I did not wish to receive information from Adidas so just unticked that particular box, when I made my vote. I do hope that you will be able to support Tracy.
Love

Last day to vote. You have done so well, Tracy, I do hope that you have got the support of this forum. Not many have replied on the thread but let's hope they have put their votes in and supported you in this. All for an extremely good cause.

The deadline for voting has been extended to 27 May, so please support Tracy with your vote. She is doing this to hopefully win and help raise awareness of arthritis. It is only through increased awareness that the condition will be afforded the respect it deserves.

OK I give in. I've been away for 3 days and this thread has come back to the top again so can someone please tell me how that photo can be a self-portrait. I don't say it isn't. Maybe the photographer used a tripod and his/her nose or something but I'd really like to know.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I wonder if a vote is counted when you de-tick the 'by all means send me loads of advertising' box. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
-
Yes your vote does count if you do that DD, as that is what I did. After voting you receive an email asking you to confirm your email address by clicking on a link and your vote will be added . Try it.

I intended to vote as I do think it's a good, witty photo. I did de-tick that box. I declined to give my age (I've no problem with being 66 but I don't see how it's relevant.) I also clicked on the 'Terms of Service' before agreeing to them and got a message saying 'We're sorry we do not recognise that page'. I tried twice with the same result so I gave up. I don't click on anything that won't even let me access their Terms of Service. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
