Norwich RA waiting times

Hi quick question
GP in Ireland has started me on methotrexate today (any tips on side effects greatly received) and just found out waiting list to see consultant as an urgent case is up to 10 months. Does anyone have any idea on referral times in the Norwich/Norfolk area (I split my time between both countries and have access to both health services).
Many thanks

I live in South Lincs but am seeing a Rheumy in Norfolk. I was referred in mid Feb.
6 days ago Kings Lynn Hospital rang me and said that I could see the Rheumy in Kings Lynn, but not until July/August. But there were two appts available in Fakenham this coming Friday which I could attend. So I'm doing that. Initially I was told to expect a 10 week wait, then 13 weeks which it now is, but only if I go further out to see the Rheumy.
It seems waiting times are bad here at the moment, but hopefully not as bad as 10 months!0 -
Can't help on the Norwich/Norfolk thing, broms, but, as regards meth - I've been on it over 10 years with good results and virtually no problems. I think my hair's a little thinner but, after 10 years, it probably would have been anyway. I do get the occasional 'meth day', as it's known in this household. It's usually the day after I take it, or sometimes the day after that and I feel very tired and lethargic. That's it. Next day I'm back to normal. I've had to stop taking it before operations but then resumed without a hitch. I hope you've been given Folic Acid to take with it and I'd recommend you take it with food but that's it. It works for me. Good luck.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks of the replies folks - folic acid waiting to be taken today! Don't feel the best today have to be honest but if it helps then it will be worth it.
Ldyalb thanks for the info it sounds as if its going to be worth popping home and trying to get something done in the UK - sometimes medical care here leaves a lot to be desired :-)0
