Have Arthritiscare done any research into the reported success of Apostherapy? I did read that it might become available through the NHS on a pilot basis.

Hi Bluewellies. I'm just an ordinary forum member but I remember a thread on this a while back. It can be found on the Living With Arthritis forum on Pg 13 about halfway down. It's entitled APOS therapy?

I also found a BBC article about it at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8694086.stm

This is what a musculo-skeletal Prof said:

GP Professor Martin Underwood from Warwick Medical School. who specialises in treating musculoskeletal pain said he felt the cost - £3,000 for non-Bupa members - was very high.
And he said he would like to see more data on its efficacy - there have been some studies published, but these are only on small numbers of patients.
"It is plausible that it might work and you can see ways in which selected patients it might make a difference," he said.
"It is an interesting idea that might have merit, but at present there is not the evidence to recommend its use."
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi there
I posted about APOS therapy a while back as my insurers had suggested it to me.
I am sceptical as to how it can benefit somebody like me with both knees needing TKR............it may well be beneficial for those just experiencing knee pain..........

I havent taken up the option!

    best of luck
