Hi Guys
Me again, Had THR 5 weeks ago, going for post op appointment next week 23rd and will be put on waiting list(about 6 weeks wait) if he deems that I have recovered well enough with this hip, which I think he will.
My problem is that until 1 week ago I wasnt feeling any pain in the other hip and was enjoying a pain free period, apart from the op discomfort. but now the pain is back its stopping me from being able to do the excercises and walking around as I have been so happily doing, I dont know whether to push myself and still walk a lot and excercise. I will obviously ask the surgeon next week. but wondered if any of you have had this problem
I was so enjoying the freedom and the lovely feeling of being able to walk round the block (with a walker), both my hips are/were severely affected and the surgeon said that it was nearly too late to do the replacement and that the other hip wasnt far behind it, so I am worried about doing too much and wearing it away so that it is too late!!!!!!
What do I do guys ??????

l would be careful lass :? ! After all it's only next week that you see them and can take some advice.
I your shoes l would do what you can, but not aggravate things  The last thing you want to do is make things any worse. You can explain how well you were doing when you go can't you?
Good luck for getting on that list
Love

Hi Chris
Its lovely to hear you have so well with your THR, but sorry you have to have the other done, like Toni says you be careful just do what you can, because you dont know how long the wait will be, I do wish you well with it all, I may be picking your brains, both my hips need doing but a bit of me being scared and a bit that lots of the pain may be coming form my back, so I go see um on Monday.
You take care, I will be thinking about you xxLove

Take things gently macri, the fixed hip is doing OK and that's a very good thing but the other hip may now be feeling more of a strain hence the hurt. Don't push yourself too hard, yes? Wait and see what he says, it is after all still early days recuperation-wise and although hip replacements are 'run of the mill' surgery it is a major event to the body. Let us know how you get on, please, and take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
