well, I've just been to attend my very first arthritis care meeting.. On my own
I checked and checked and triple checked the date and time.. Venue etc..
Got there early...
Went in.... Not one person from arthritis care :? I checked the tones etc again.. Yup, there it us, on the website, third thursday if the month, 2-3.30, outwood memorial hall, wakefield...
Only people there were some old folks playing bingo, nothing to do with ac.
The people I spoke to at the place checked the calender, nothing... Hadn't seen ac for a couple of months or so..
I tried ringing the numbers I had from the website but got no answer. So I sent an email asking why I was sat there all on my own..
Wouldn't mind, I emailed them a couple of weeks ago asking about the meetings, was yolks to just turn up..
Not the best of starts to my foray into ac meetings..
:cry::cry::cry: I was all alone :cry::cry::cry: Lol

Oh well....
Guess I smell or summat :o

Oh poor you Tony, not good advertising at all is it for that kind of meeting? You did everything correctly, calling in advance to check. Well, it was their loss, big time and I don't suppose you shall be rushing to go back.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

I right I would give the bingo a miss lol...
It wasn't too bad as it's just a couple of miles away but I'm disappointed that it's still in the website...
Oh, I don't have a dog mi dear lol.. Have a rather large cat though :D and he's doing fine, sleeping as usual.. Once he's woken us on a morning and been fed, he goes straight back to sleep, lucky boy

I'm a little disappointed hun, I must admit.. Not good advertising as you say.. I was kinda looking forward to it too... Hoping an email will come through soon with a decent explanation.
    Cheers Elna :D

I had the same problem tony at my local group although I will let them off as it was deep winter and frosty under foot and the lady who was waiting there to tell people it was cancelled that week told me it was mainly old biddies who go to the group and they go for the social aspect really! So me being only 42!! I thought mAybe the group wasn't for me and I was looking for a more active group that had guest speakers etc! Oh well. Maybe in 20 years I can go, if I'm still alive!! Lol
    LOVE EMMA X

    thanks webby :D
I had an email back from Jalsinder? Sorry, I can't remember her surname right now. Apologizing.. She could not understand what had happened. I will try and dig out the email as I can't remember exactly what else she put  I've not slept much last night.. Lol

Emma, you're a whipper snapper at that age, lol... I'm 43, soon to be all the 4's, so I get what you mean. Sadly it's the nature of the beast that a lot of people we will come into contact with through or arthritic lives will be older than us. I always seemed to be the youngest by quite a margin when I was in the hospital after surgery etc..

    Cheers folks
Sorry I've not been online a couple of days..
    Hope everyone is ok?

I'm off for a nap in a minute but then I'm positively ancient at 45 :D

I have been very proactive this morning tho as I taught my friends husband on a riding lesson.

    Enjoy your lap nap
