Please be careful as people have had problems in the post via FB. Also I would use real name via PM only.

Lets face it, we all have usernames to protect our privacy.

Just a kindly reminder, its the mom in me!!!!

You are right, Suzy, personal details should be given via private message not on the forum. I expect the mods will do the necessary. ;)

They are referring to general problems with facebook Julia not problems with members of AC on facebook. Many of us are linked via facebook

I have a page, but I think you need to be careful with what you put on it and use the privacey settings on there so you don't give away too much, which is easy. Also loads of people will want to 'be your friend' so you need to be careful accepting people you don't know.
I use it and like it most of the time, but have had a few problems. It would help if you had someone who uses it to help you set it up and come to your aide if needed.
Hope I haven't put you off, it can be fun.

I set up a facebook account when my daughter and her husband spent a year travelling round the world. It was good to see pictures of them and send and receive messages. I only have family members and friends on there and don't add anyone I don't actually know. You can set your privacy so that only your friends can see your posts, you can hide your posts from anyone and can even set it so that only you can see them. There are posts which are often forwarded which are untrue or ask you to click on a link. These are usually obvious spam.

    Hi Karen

I don't do facebook purely cus it just doesn't really appeal to me as such. A friend of mine has had so much agro from her family over things one of them have said something others haven't liked. I don't think its the normal but I don't want them as friends :lol::lol:

Seriously it just doesn't appeal to me. The fact its all so public and I like to hide doesn't help but then I go and do a blog and its got a lot of personal things in that and people look at it and I am ok with that so you never know I might one day do facebook

I think it is if you find one of the ac folk you have them all and sometimes I think it would be nice to keep in touch that way... but... I just don't do facebook... never say never  Cris x

    I love Facebook :-)

Its brought me together with old school pals fromover 30yrs ago, and I can keep in contact with all my family from across the world in one easy place!

Its also been a great source of support for me when I have been off work after various Ops etc.

I wouldnt knock it at all! :-)

The thing is Cris, it is only public if that's what you want. I have it set so that only my family and friends can see what I post. You can even block someone altogether or set your post so that only one person can see it, even so that only you can see it. A few of my friends feel as you do and don't go on it. Not everyone likes it.

I love FB. Have got in touch with so many old friends which is just lovely. Also means I get to chat with mates in other countries without costing a fortune. It's not everyone's cuppa, but then we are all different.
