I have Cervical Spondylosis. Fortunately I only suffer slight discomfort at the moment but do have difficulty finding a comfortable position for my head in bed. I mainly lie on my side but occasionally on my back. I only use one pillow. I was thinking about buying a neck pillow. I have searched on the internet and found an assortment but as they are mainly expensive I hesitate to buy one without advice. So, any advice please. Thank you

Pillow preference is as individual as those who use them. I'm a side-sleeper, I used to have two but reduced the number to one a few years ago. I have tried a neck pillow, a memory foam standard-shaped one, an expensive Dunlopillo but the best one ever is my latest. I bought it in a market for 9.99, it's nothing special or fancy but by George it's a cracker. You won't know until you try and I wish you well in your search. DD

Yes I have the same problem with my neck. I bought a small narrow pillow which I use to support my neck as well as using my standard memory phone pillow. This little pillow is perfect as it fits in a small bag and goes everywhere with me.

I can't find the one I have but this looks close:

    Good luck!

Thanks for both your replies. I do have a travel neck pillow, was after one for bed.
I know everyone is different so just put query on Forum in hopes I might find something, if that makes sense. Thank you.

Hi Broads, DD is right getting the right pillow to help you sleep is an individual thing. I find a pocket sprung pillow is good for supporting my neck and head and helps me with a (not when pain is bad) good nights sleep. So depending on what sort of support you want if you like a harder supportive pillow I reccommend a pocket sprung pillow. Hope you find a pillow to support you soon so you can get a good nights sleep.

Hi broads :) I have tried soooo many pillows!!! Memory foam, contoured, feather etc etc. The one I always come back to though is the Dunlopillo. I only use one and I get the 'shallow' version. I find I manage to sleep really well on it - with the added help of the Oramorph

Not sure where you live, or you could look on the internet, at F**nwicks, Newcastle. They have a huge selection of them.

    Hope this helps.

DD is right. I must have bought twenty pillows in the last three years including three memory pillows (one just yesterday) and I still do not have the right one for me! Good luck!

I've tried so many pillows over the years, and yes many are really expensive...

I have finally (and happily) ended with the following solution, and for me this works....

I have a firm & contoured neck full memory foam pillow, and ontop of that I have a fairly thin cotton soft pillow (which was really inexpensive and therefore can be changed frequently, if required..)

This for "me" works as I find the memory foam too hard and uncomfortable as I am too a side sleeper, but just having the extra couple of inches of the soft cotton pillow ontop makes all the difference for me.... as I can shape comfy into my neck...

    Good Luck & sleep well...
