Big week coming up

Hi everyone,
I hope we're all doing OK and are not suffering too much in this damp weather that we're having again (or is that just in Wales). Its so typical, I've been feeling a bit better recently then I had major problems at work last week ---- long story, but with positive outcome finally!
Anyway, its resulted in a flare up of my RA. My ankles and feet are really sore and it hurts just to stand never mind walk, my hands are swollen and my carpal tunnel is back so having to wear wrist splints again.
Next week I've got the final exams of my Msc on Monday and Tuesday .... these are practical exams taken in the hospital where I have to assess patients coming into A & E, take a full medical history, do physical examinations then come up with a potential diagnosis and management plan whilst being observed by the examiners who are doctors in the hospital. Thats going to be quite difficult to with my painful hands.
I've got an appointment with rheumatology on Wednesday (shame it wasn't before the exams), I think she's going to stop some of my meds and start new ones. I'm on Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine & Planequil. She mentioned last time changing the sulfasalaxine for Lefl???? (can't remember the name of it). Is anyone on this combination?
Then.... to top it all off, my new hours in my job start on Monday which will mean I'm working 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts for the next 6 months, I have no idea how I'm going to manage that but I've got to give it a go.
I don't know which I'm more worried about, the exams, rheumy appt or job change.
I apologise in advance if I miss any pocket duties over the next few days.
Take care everyone, I'll be back in a few days to catch up on everything I've missed.

Hi Jan
maybe having all that on will stop you worrying too much about the exams and then you will do BRILLIANTLY
is it leflunomide?? I bet it is and wish you all the very best with the medication change.
Someotimes real stress can seem to connect with flares can't it? Glad all is resolved now.
All the very best for the exam. You hands may hurt but your kind personality can and WILL shine through.
Love

Hey Jan, So sorry your suffering with your wrists, your right this damp weather is giving my wrists, knees, ankles and hips a good pain boost! It can't be hard for the pain to butt in while your trying to study and put you off. Good luck on Monday & Tuesday with the Exams.
And hope everything goes good with the Rhummey on Wednesday and you get a positive outcome from the appt. I will be in your pocket on Wednesday no problem!
And I hope the new hours with you job work out ok on Monday. Hope you get through your mega busy week and arther is fair with you!0 -
awwwww, thanks everyone, you're all so lovely and kind.
Toni - yes, thats it, leflunomide. I think they may stop my sulfasalazine and start that instead. Hopefully, that will suit me better and work nicely alongside the meth and planequil.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts, I'll certainly be glad when next week is over thats for sure!0
