Not good news im afraid....didnt see my consultant again, I have only see him once in 3 years...but his understudy was very nice.
He asked how the hip injection had gone...I said it worked a little but not much, then he said how did the epidural go, I said its 3 years since I had one of thoes...so he produces a letter from my back specialist from last August saying I should have one before the THR...to make sure were all the pain is coming from...apparently they sent a copy to my GP and he has said nothing... so I asked why they didnt tell me about it 4 months ago...he said it must have been overlooked....so I have suffered for nearly a year....so they are sending me for an urgent appointment for the epidural and if that dont work then it will be my first THR...so I told him I cant even sleep on my hips now....and has for walking ...well I dont walk very far.
I think these may be stalling tactics now.....warning swearing coming...bloody NHS.....thanks again everyone...you are so kind....xxxxxxx

Oh Barbara! It has to be bad to make you swear. Mind you, I’d be swearing too and that would be one of my milder ones. It’s a good job you saw him and a good job he was on the ball. Your GP, however……well, I think he should at least be tackled over it. If you don’t, nothing will change and it might well happen again either to you or others.

I very much hope the epidural helps but, if not, I love my THRs. They do a great job so all is not lost by any means. Now, go brew up, put a bottle in the fridge for later, have a sit down and find something that helps you relax. You’ve earned it. (())

Oh dear, isn't it frustrating when the admin isn't adminned? At least he spotted it and is putting the wheels in motion to get it done for you. I agree with Sticky, go and brew up and/or stick summat lovely in the fridge for later - treats after these meetings are well-deserved and uber-necessary. ((())) DD

    Hi Barbara
I am sorry I missed your pocket today and even more sorry for your disappointing appointment.

It is terrible and poor you for having to suffer more than you may have needed to just because they over looked a letter.

I hope that your epidural appointment comes through quickly and more importantly that it works for you.

    Love & gentle hugs ((((((())))))))

Hi Barbara....So sorry I missed this today.
I was a bit busy in hospital myself. Funny how the important things that matter to us are misplaced by these proffessionals......or forgotten about.

At least now you are moving forward.

    Hi Barbara

You see why do professionals do things like this - oh we havent sent copy of letter, or oh its been an oversight? Its your health and suffering and to me kinda makes you feel like a number and not so much personal touch....
I can only hope they get their act together, that you get the epidural soon and that it works....
Im sorry you didnt have a good day and sending you hugs...

Barbera i feel your pain, anger, and frustration...

I hope now you are on the right path and things will get sorted, but this should have been dealt with when it was needed a long time ago..

    Are you considering complaining?

    Sending hugs (((X)))

    Barbara....sorry I mised this.
Make sure you are copied into every letter when you go to see a consultant/doctor whoever......I ask each time i go.....will i get a copy of these letters?
So the sooner you get this epidural the better. Isnt it annoying when they dont know if its back or hips
I've had one THR {not very successful} and am now waiting for the results of a back MRI to see if its coming from the back......they think it is but what they'll do if they discover it is I dont know :? So i'm the opposite way round to you

    Sorry I missed this Barbara.

It's amazing how many things go astray, quite conveniently so, with the NHS. I remember when I had my 2nd son who was 6 weeks prem, I was very ill and kept fainting etc. turns out they had lost my notes and I should have had a blood transfusion. Honestly it beggars belief doesn't it?

It amazes me how they can get away with an 'oh sorry' when, as you say you have struggled with chronic pain for over a year. Hileena is right, get a copy of every piece of paperwork relating to yourself and if when you go to the docs things aren't mentioned then tell them.

Fingers crossed the epidural helps a bit so you can at least get some comfort for sleeping.

Hi, I'm so sorry, what a disappointment for you and what an awful mistake, I know we all make mistakes, but I would have thought, in this day and age, with technology there would be some simple way of checking what a doctor sees before it gets lost in the bulk of your notes.

I do feel for you and hope that soon you will be able to get something done. It's enough to make anyone swear!!!
    Good luck!

Hi my dear friend and thankyou so much
SW, DD, Julie, Julia, May, Toni, Elaine & Sol, Tracy, Hileena, Fols, Woodbon ,and Joan
Well I have calmed down a little, I will have this epidural...not much choice really...I did have one around 3 years ago...they did 3 across the bottom of my back ..but to be honest I wasnt in has much pain then, so hopefully now I will see some results...just wish it was more straight forward I would gladly have the hips done.(says me )....
May I am sorry I missed pocket duties...I hope the results are good ones
Hileena we do seem to be going round in circles....but I do know that you have had a lot of pain form the THR so I think they are being cautious
Joan I am getting a wheelchair, its silly not to, when we went to Spain I hired one...and it made such a big difference
Thanks again all....you really are a lovely lot xxxxxxxxxx
    Love
