hi all, i had another esa medical a few weeks ago and still awaiting a letter of doom but had a call from the jobcentre(joke shop) to say i didnt need to go to my next work based interview as i am now in the support group for esa?

am i right in taking it i passed my medical  this time and does anyone know what it means to be in the "support group", she didnt say anything else before hanging up, i was really expecting to have to appeal all over again so im a bit shocked.

thats great news coco, you now dont need to worry about attending those interviews now as your left alone till your next medical.

I have just finished writing my 6 page appeals letter which will be sent in tommorow once i have my sick note from my GP.

I am really please for you. Its nice to hear good news for a change.

They really are awful with what they put people through.

    Hi Coco
Well that is brilliant news, but wouldn't you think they would explain what its means, I do hope that someone comes along very soon with more advice.
You take care and try and enjoy this good weather xx
    Love

Excellent news coco. Being in the Support Group means you get an extra few pounds a week, you not have to attend any interviews and if it's income related and you get DLA at middle or higher rate care you get disability premiums too.

I don't think you have to pay for prescriptions either but would need someone to clarify that.

That's good news Coco. I am pleased for you.
I'm still waiting after 8 weeks
What date did you have your medical?
It seems as if they ring before sending the letter - that seems a strange way of doing it to me - extra expense.

I think if your in the support group you don't need to send sick notes in either. I'm just starting down this road now and am dreading it  . Form has been filled in and sent off but they will not be able to ring me first cos I forgot to put my phone number on it  . They can do what they like, they will anyway, and I refuse to get stressed about it. Well done on getting into the support group and good luck to anyone who is going through this rediculous process right now x Dee x

Make sure you keep a copy of all your paperwork. I've been told that those in the Support Group are being subjected to 3-6 monthly medicals and reviews. I'm not happy about this as it took me 6 months of fighting to get in the SG.

I had my medical in April and recieved my letter on Saturday. I had been awarded contribution based ESA and have been put in the support group (transfer over from IB).
I called the job centre today to query why my award would run from 12th June (the transfer date) to 26th November, apparently my ESA will be stopping on 26th November and that's my lot!
I'm devastated, I dont know what to do next, the lady basically said that unfortunately that's how things run now, so hard luck! I could re-apply but would have to wait 13 wks from my ESA ending (over christmas - thanks!) and maybe I would get it again, but that would mean filling in the form again, having a medical etc etc. I can't believe that people who have the problems we do are being abandoned in this way and being left in such financial strife.:cry::cry:

I have just been put on the support group last week and I got told I didn't need to send anymore sick lines in but I just received a letter today saying I need to hand a sick line in by the 19th could this just be a mistake they have made? Cause I got told on the wednesday last week about not sending anymore in then that letter was sent on the 11th the next day. If someone could let me know as am really getting confused

    Thanks

Coco thats great hopefully you wont need to go for regular medicals, I have just applied for ESA and reading some of the posts I am now panicking, it is already two months since I have recieved any money due to DWP sending me the wrong forms TWICE I got an apology and that was it long story, by what I can gather it might be a while before I hear anything I am so concerned and confused by the whole thing.....Marie x
