nerve test

Hi there,

Has anyone had a nerve test on their hands ?

I would appreciate any information please as rheumy is getting one done for me :D

    Can't help, I'm afraid. Just bumping it up.
    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    I had a nerve test a few weeks ago.
    Nothing painful.
    They will prob put them sticky pads on you and all they do is press a button that will send an electric wave through you. I t is to test how quick your nerves react to the electric current(it is shown on a screen) it is then analised and sent to your consultant.
    Did doc explain why he was doing the test?

    I had some done a while ago for nerve damage. Uncomfortable at most because they will, as traluvie said probably stimulate your nerves with mild electric shocks.

    Prior to having my tests done never in a million years would I have envisaged myself volunteering to be electrocuted. :shock:
    I am not a complete idiot, some parts of me are missing!

    I had one done on my arm and feet a few years ago, and as someone has already said it's uncomfortable but not painful.

    And then they will measure how long it takes you to hit the ceiling and how quickly you recover from it :lol: (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

    Thanks for the replies :D sorry for the delay, hands not been brilliant :cry: so blooming painful at times makes it hard to type.

    Hi traluvie,
    cos my hands swell and get pains in the joints and down fingers and got like a vein lump in one :shock: i am having ultra sound scan again too! i got OA, Fibro, raynauds, hypermobility, poss sero neg RA so it's to see what is going on. :roll: a right ol mixed bag :lol:

    I wasnt expecting it to be painful just wondering what they did to you :lol:
