Hi Everyone!

Ive woken up this morning with black like bruising under my armpits and down my arms a bit too! Basically the area i would spray my deodorant!

Im not sure if it is a reaction to going out in the sun lately and the tablets im on ( Hydroxycloroquine and Methotrexate) and i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this????

It could just be to do with my deodorant, although it is not inflammed, its just black!!!!! :(

If anyone can shed any light, id appreciate it.

Feel fed up as i just want to wake up one day and everything is ok, but it never seems to happen!!!!!!! :x

This is an odd one! At first I assumed bruising but you don't mention having done anything to damage it.

I've taken meth & hydroxy for years and, though one does have to monitor excessive bruising with them, this does seem a bit sudden and confined to one area. However, if you think you have cause to be bruised there, and there is a lot, maybe you should get it checked out.

Val might have a point. Did you wear something black with potentially leaky dye yesterday?

If you suspect your deodorant then get another asap.

Sorry I can't be more help.

    That is strange Emma :?

I am also on hydroxy methotrexate but have never experienced black underarms.

I think I would change my deodorant, and if it is still there in a couple of days I would certainly get it checked out.

    Take care

Hi folks! I'm embarrassed to say I think it was the top!! It is a new top so I think the dye must have come off!! Phew, what a relief, he he:)

And delboy, I just read what I wrote and it's meant to say I hope it ISN'T bubonic plague!!!! LOL :)

So panic over! Thanks everyone for your support through my panic!!!!!

    Hi,

Spoke to a fellow patient at my latest rheum clinic and she told me that Hydro had completely changed her skin pigmentation. She looked as if she had been in Jamaica for a month when she would never have usually changed colour in the sun. So it could be the med.
