well, we are on our way. Currently just shy of Barnsley on the M1.
Will be getting on our main coach at wooly edge services. Reckon that'll be in under an hour.
I'll be waving to all of you south of my current position as I pass by. :D

It's not ideal going all the way to Spain via coach, but as Janet can't fly we've little choice.
I've got plenty of diazepam, and boy will I need em.

Anyone else experienced long coach trips? If so, what was your experience like?
We've been doing this a good few yrs now and apart from the obvious pains all has been good.

    thanks Mig.
We started off going to Blanes with club c..
They were so so.. Then went with s1e$ta.. They're brilliant.
This time we are with nat hols. Only ever been to ireland with em before.
I'll let you know what it's like.
So fast, so good but less leg room than sie$ta.

Careful now, Tony. You'll soon be entering THE SOUTH. Just shut your eyes, dream of flat caps, whippets and coal in the bath and it'll soon all be over. Once on the ferry you can relax again.

Coach holiday? I never say never but not while there's any alternative.

Hola Tony, We haven`t "met" before, but another Northerner here to support you through hostile territory. Regarding your question, if it meant a holiday in beautiful Spain, I`d go in a handcart!!.....well, as long as somebody pushed me! I am venturing there myself in October, for the first time since my beloved husband died. I am flying though, so very nervous on all counts. Excited too.

Have a great time, and Feliz Compleanos for Thursday........Rosie.

Coaches are not good for me or anyone sitting within spewing range of me ; once did a coach holiday to the south of France ( nearly 40 years ago ) , never felt so dehydrated before . Hope you and Janet have an amazing time . Jillyb

Tony asked me to let you know that he waved at everybody on his way down the country - well, those on his route! They arrived at Dover to discover that there had been an error and they were not booked on the 2.15 ferry, it was the 5.15 but then the coach driver wangled summat and yes, tjt is afloat! Have a great time mate. DD

What is he floating on? Life raft? Packet of 1/2 eaten sarnies? Use your crutches as oars, mate. You should be in France by tomorrow. Or maybe Belgium. Portugal if you're lucky.

We went to paris about 8 years ago on a coach. It was very difficult,as OH had to lift me up the steps as I couldn't manage them. We were sat right at the back of the coach  I had to sit cross legged as I couldn't use their toilet and had to wait for service station breaks. Then they always had to get my wheelchair out from the luggage hold as I couldn't walk far and it made me feel as though i was a bit of a pest. :?

I loved the 4 day break when we got there as we did our own thing :D but I did find the travelling a bit too much trouble. :(

Hope you are enjoying your journey tony and have a brilliant time

Just had a text from Tony and he has asked me to update you of his travels :D

He is still in france and travelling now down to spain which is estimated another 3 hours

He says last night was awful as the hotel that they stopped in was a slum
There was lots of gangs hanging around which made it unsafe to leave the hotel. He says it was a horrid place :( But....our Tony being Tony isn't going to let this mishap spoil his holiday and is now happily on his travels :D

    Take care Tony
    You are nearly there
