Laser driven cortisone (hips)

Just thought I'd update anyone who may be going for similar thing on how it went. (I always like to read other peoples experiences too).
I went and had my first hip 'done' earlier this week, very dissapointed as I thought I was getting them both done - you only get one at a time - you have to go back in a few weeks for the other one - hey ho...
It was a very quick procedure, much faster than I expected.
Here's what happens - you lay on an op table and your'e told to try and keep still (ha ha). You get some numbing stuff on the affected joint (its very cold) then you get the cortisone. Does it hurt? Hmmm subjective as you are already in pain or you woudln't be there? Its pretty fast and it passes - on a pain for me maybe 5/10 (but its seconds). My hip was already at 7 or 8.
Ok well did it help? No not for me (sort of expecting that). I will go back and get the other hip done though - and follow the thing through.
I chatted to some of the others, a man who had hip pain (only for a year or so) said he felt lots better. A lady who had in her shoulder seemed to feel better - so its horses for courses - I'd def say if its offered go for it!

Thanks for sharing this, mouseymousey :)

I hadn't heard of laser-driven cortisone before reading your post, so if anyone mentions it to me in the future I'll know what to expect!

How are you feeling a few days on from the procedure? Has there been any improvement?

    Best wishes,
    Phoebe
