Had my mri today

Hi all, I have been looking in, but not posting much. I had my mri scan of my back this morning. Now I just have to wait for the results. The ortho said whatever the results they are unlikely to operate as my overall health is so poor.
I am nervous about the results in case they don't show the problem clearly. I am already in severe pain, with sciatica and numb toes and feet, it leaves me unable to stand. My previous scan showed disk problems etc. The thought of carrying on in so much pain is unpleasant and slightly scary. The ortho says maybe an injection will help but he is unsure till he gets the scan results. Physio is not an option as the damage is too great.
I have put it all to the back of my mind, but now I have had the scan it has made me think about it again.
The technicians were great and gave me a scan in the open scanner as I am so claustrophobic. After I got a young girl, who thought I must be ok as am young(ish) and didnt bring me my walker or shoes, or help me off the bed Still the other staff were brilliant.
Counting down till I get the results in a couple of weeks.

I bet you're glad it's over with. I'm not quite sure what will constitute 'good' results, Suzygirl, but I wholeheartedly wish them for you. Rest up now and please keep us informed. ((()))If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Suzy
I am due to have a second epidural to ease my sciatic pain, I will let you know how it goes...the first one was around 3 years ago, it did help a little but apparently the second one can be better...so my pain nurse said
I would advise you to get a copy of your MRI, its invaluable when seeing different consultants....and good to have in case you go for physio.
Wishing you well with everything xxxLove

Hi Suzy
Sorry I didn't see this yesterday
Well done for coping so well with the scan. I am CERTAIN it WILL show the reason for the numbness and pain I really am so try hard not to worry.
Fingers crossed once they know for sure what is wrong they will come up with a plan to help you.
Love and hugs

Thanks Toni, it is nice to hear from you. I hope you are ok.
Barbara, thanks for the info, that is helpful. I am hoping the scan will show that an injection will help since I am not a candidate for surgery.
Have to hope, don't we!!!0 -
Hi Suzy,
Glad they have done it and hope they wont keep you waiting too long for the results. Fingers crossed it will also mean some help for the pain etc for you. hang in there a and sachet for Izzy Cris xx0 -
Please accept my late arrival to this - I've had a busy couple of days. I am so pleased it is done and dusted and I hope that it does show the reason for all your trouble so that something can be done to alleviate what is happening. You have been going through the mill recently and you need some better news, yes? ((())) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
