Hi Welcome to the forum.....thats another thing that comes up a lot
The majority of people seem to say they dont help them but if you want to give them a go.....give it a try.....it may work for your wife and if it does thats great.

I've just bought one of those bracelets and the man assured me I'd see some improvements or my money back. I'm only on day 2 and I have a stomach bug so I'm worse, not better! I'm sceptical about these things in general but I will report back. The man who sold it to me said I should experience relief within 14 days. Watch this space!0

I tried one a while ago but it never worked for me at all. However my sister thought it was great and got lots of relief from wearing one!How come I'm over the hill and rapidly going down it, when I don't even recall reaching the summit?0

Hello gillmrtn, i'm pleased to meet you. I am guessing that Mrs Gillmrtn has osteo arthritis? These things can work for some but the only way is to try and find out. I have an auto-immune plus osteo arthritis and my lovely silver bangle with eight magnets is in my jewellery box. It did little for me but you never know - it may well work for your wife and I hope it does. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

hello and welcome to the forum from me
I have rheumatoid arthritis, and neither the copper or the magnetic bracelet did anything for me, but we are all different and it may be of help to your wife.
It is worth trying and even if it doesn't work there are some nice designs out there that will look nice on her wrist.

Hi gillmrtn
Magnet therapy has been around for hundreds of years, some people get great relief others dont get any, but just one point, the magnets should be of good quality, and should always be worn over the site of the pain,
I have a back belt with two rows of magnets, it wasn't to expensive..around £15... I have only had it for a week so the jury is still out, I did get it from a shopping channel and if you are not happy with it then you can return it.Love

Hi Gill, Firstly Welcome to the forum, I looked in to buying one middle of last year and was shocked at how much they can cost . Yes they do look very nice but when your getting them for medical use and they can cost upwards of £35 (that's the cheapest I've seen them selling for) and the reviews are all negative I decided against it. So it's a personal decision really Gill.0

Tried one and it just gave me a green/black wrist
Welcome by the way

There's no scientific evidence (of which I'm aware) that supports their efficacy.
However, whilst I've never used a bracelet, I have used magnets / magnet therapy myself with some success. I have found using adhesive magnets for specific "hostpots" does offer some limited (and localized) pain relief. I would put the efficacy about on par with a non-steroidal based gel.
If I were seeking a more generalised effect I would be more inclined to purchase and use some magnetic shoe insoles.

Hi
Dont forget the placebo effect.........It does work....I remember as a nurse a certain patients story.
It doesnt matter whether there is any real medical evidence or not I would say that if it helps you thats great......use it....medical evidence or not.
As long as there is nothing AGAINST using it{or anything else}
Love
Hileena

Hi there,
A lovely friend bought me both a magnetic and a copper bracelelt in a bid to help!! Sadly neither helped, but the magnetic one looks quite pretty. Hope your wife gets some relief.0 -
Hi, I've just started this arthritis lark after coming down with a sudden severe attack 3 weeks ago. I remembered today that hidden away in drawer somewhere I had one of these magnetic bracelets I'd bought years ago to try to help with a bad back i've suffered with for 25 years.
So i've fished it out, strapped it to my wrist and will see how it goes and will report back how I get on.

I bought mine before I knew what form of arthritis I have, as it turned out to be an auto-immune inflammatory I'm not surprised it didn't do much. It is, however, quite stylish - maybe I'll dig it out again to see if it helps with the suspected carpal tunnel. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
