Hi

Im on holiday at the moment up in the highlands staying with my sister...Anyhow last night had just gotten changed for bed and came through room and wham down like a sack of spuds...Had to call help, niece heard me and asked was i okay, shouted no had gone down...It took sister and niece upending me by me armpits against the bed to get me up and insistence i carry me stick with me everywhere...Trouble is cant make a cup of tea and carry a stick as its the same hand I use!

This is fall number 5 in about 7 weeks....

I'm sorry to hear you have had another tumble, I think we do have to concentrate more than the able-bodied as we move about because it is so easy to trip etc. As for the tea making etc, I prop my crutches up out of the way or hang my stick on the work top. That way I have both hands free to share the strain, talking of which it's time to wash up! I hope you feel better soon. DD

Hi Elaine. Glad to hear you are not too badly hurt. I fall over at least every couple of months and usually in a very public place! I once fell in the foodhall in m+s just before xmas. My brussell sprouts went flying everywhere! I hobbled away with a thousand eyes watching me go. Still go red thinking about it. lol.

Oh Elaine............. :-( am so sorry to hear you had another fall!

I hope you are keeping track of the dates and detailsof thse falls for evidence when you see Consultant next.
Sounds like your knees are as unstable as mine my lovely..........I am forced to use my walking stick as support as a permanent fixture now. I've only had a couple of near misses since I've been using mine.

On the upside, you are in a beautiful part of the world, so I hope you find some time to enjoy the surroundings

Hi Elaine. I'm sorry to hear about this. I know that, in the months before any of my TKRs and THRs I've had to walk very carefully, never assuming that the limbs would hold up. It's annoying. I hope 3 will be quite sufficient and it won't happen again.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh dear Elaine. Your knee needs sorting and the sooner the better. I'm glad you kept note of dates of all the falls as it is really important to let the consultant know(and for the blue badge application) otherwise he's going to make you hold out.

carrying things when you use a stick-usually fingers crossed isn't it?
