    Hi Val,
I get pain that sounds a lot like that. It hurts no matter how I lay.
Unfortunately, like you , I don't do doctors, so I don't know what it is! It will be interesting to see any replies.
    Wishing you well,
    Numpty

I have something like that Val. My rheumy was not interested as it stems from the OA in my knee, it seems to be getting worse so I need to go to GP.

    Hi Val

I did answer your post and looks like it has gone into cyber space :?: or i could have replied on someone elses post  I get cramp on the outer thigh due to walking wonky its really painful .place the palms of your hands on a flat wall standing straight .place bad leg 1 foot space behind you and bend good leg knee forwards you will feel the stretch on the back calf and should feel on the thigh stretching also .Otherwise you could stand straight bend forwards bend the good knee and place the bad leg forwards and rest on the heel of foot place hands at top of leg and push down you will really feel the muscle stretch . Hope this helps please take it easy though as it is always best to see a physio as we are all different with our aches and pains .

It's not something I'm familiar with, Val, and I do hope it won't be familiar to you either for long. I hope it goes away soon.

I'm not familiar with this either Val, my suggestion is rest as much as you can, maybe try some heat and if it doesn't ease then go to see your doctor. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
